If you got a kick out of Home Safety Hotline, Baltoro Games and Professor Space Games have their own take on the retro aesthetic, taking gamers back to the 80s with their psychological horror title, Things Too Ugly. Aiming for a release in the “latter half of 2024”, the game will arrive for PC via Steam, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch.

Set against the mysterious backdrop of 1986 along the Mississippi River, Things Too Ugly combines elements of puzzle-solving, investigative work, and narrative exploration. You’re an employee at Terebro Inc., clocking in for the night shift. Working as a Risk Assessment Data Processor, you piece together data from the company’s wealth of documents and recordings, eventually uncovering a hidden history. By doing so, you uncover dark truths that could either fortify or fracture the company’s future.
