Wish celebrates Disney's 100th anniversary with overt, plot-related Easter eggs connecting Asha to Cinderella's fairy godmother. Despite the explicit Easter eggs in Wish, Disney has disproved the shared universe theory and asserts that the Easter eggs are simply a way to celebrate and remind audiences of the various Disney films. The obvious Easter eggs in Wish are meant to celebrate Disney, but without a shared universe, they result in making the film seem overly self-aware and meta.
