With Transformers: Rise of the Beasts set to premiere in June 2023, many are wondering whether Megatron will appear in the film. Throughout the Transformers franchise, Megatron has always been one of the core antagonists as the leader of the Decepticons. The same can be said for the Transformers film series, with all five Michael Bay movies including Megatron as a main villain in each entry.

However, this changed with Bumblebee, a prequel to Bay's series. Bumblebee did not feature Megatron despite the wishes of director Travis Knight, due to Hasbro opting to keep continuity with Bay's earlier films. With Transformers: Rise of the Beasts set to be the sequel to Bumblebee, and its place in the wider Transformers continuity in doubt, the question of whether Megatron will make an appearance is certainly valid.
