Warner Bros. has made several high-profile changes and additions to its release calendar, including announcing that Jason Momoa-starrer Minecraft will hit theaters April 4, 2025. The studio is making the tentpole in partnership with Legendary Pictures.

Napoleon Dynamite filmmaker – is directing the big screen adaptation of the popular video game. The video game hails from Sweden’s Mojang Studios, with Mojang’s Lydia Winters and Vu Bui also producing the film.

Warner Bros. also revealed it is unscheduling its Wizard of Oz animated film Toto. The pic had been set to open Feb. 2, 2024. Barry Levinson’s The Wise Guys, starring Robert De Niro, is instead taking that date. Debra Messing and Kathrine Narducci also star in Wise Guys.

Additionally, the studio made tweaks to its 2023 year-end calendar. DC Studios’ highly anticipated Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom — also starring Momoa — will now open Dec. 20, instead of Christmas Day. Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard,...
