For all the powerful heroes that exist in the Dcu, there are many more villains around just champing at the bit to destroy them and bring their dark desires to life. No villain is as intimidating as the New God Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips and threat to the entire DC Universe. Desiring to subjugate every living being with the Anti-Life Equation, Darkseid has repeatedly launched devastating efforts to achieve his vision. Though he's always managed to be stopped by DC's forces for good, it's never long before he comes back again. Like all New Gods, even death isn't enough to completely remove Darkseid from the Dcu.
