Pokémon Legends: Arceus - How to Catch the Flying Gyarados

Trainers will notice a Flying Gyarados fairly early into Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Gyarados will appear directly above Obsidian Falls in Obsidian Fieldlands, to the east of the Heights Base Camp. Right before plunging into the river, players will likely encounter Pokémon: Arceus' Gyarados minding its own business.
There is no direct way to capture Gyarados in Pokémon Legends: Arceus until later in the game when trainers start to rank up. With each rank, the player is given a new recipe for crafting better Poké Balls. They'll need to wait until they have access to Wing and Jet Balls to catch Arceus' flying Gyarados.

There is no way to get Gyarados' attention or make it get any closer to the player, so trainers will need to craft either Wing, Feather, or Jet Balls to catch it.
