While the Dragon Ball fandom has long been comparing Goku to DC’s Superman–mostly due to the similarities in their origin stories–a deeper look into Goku’s original purpose on Planet Earth reveals that the Saiyan hero is actually much more like Invincible’s Omni-Man than he ever was like Superman.

Nolan Grayson aka Omni-Man is seemingly the greatest superhero Earth has ever seen within the world of Image Comics’ Invincible. Omni-Man is very similar to DC’s Superman as he is also an alien from a far-off world with the power of flight, super strength, super speed, and near invulnerability, and Omni-Man uses those powers to rid the world of any and all evil-doers. Nolan didn’t just commit himself to his superhero alter ego, though, as he also got married and had a son, Mark, who would later get powers of his own and become the hero known as Invincible.
