Big-name actors have been making subtle cameos in movies and television for decades, and although it seems like a largely narcissistic endeavor, they can actually be done in artistic, hilarious, and sometimes genius ways. Whether it’s Bill Murray defending himself from the undead in Zombieland or Bruce Campbell hosting wrestling matches in Spider-Man, there are loads of funny cameos to spot in movies. And Brad Pitt has perfected the cameo several times over.

Pitt is the king of cameos, as he has had so many of them and they range from brilliantly self-referential to surprisingly deep. Between guesting on late night-type shows as a Global Warming-hating weatherman and getting kidnapped in Jackass, Pitt doesn’t get enough credit for being an ingenious gangster.
