‘The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden’ Movie Adaptation in the Works
Jonas Jonasson’s “The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden” is being developed as a movie by Icelandic producer Joni Sighvatsson through his Palomar Pictures banner.
The Swedish novel, published in 2012, is Jonasson’s second book after “The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared.” Sighvatsson was an executive producer on the film version of “The 100-Year-Old Man,” a comedy which grossed over $50 million worldwide with strong performances in Germany and Sweden.
Sighvattson, a producer on “Z for Zachariah,” told Variety he’s already partnered with German conglomerate Telemunchen on the “The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden.” Telemunchen was also the German partner on “The 100-Year-Old Man.”
