‘The Wire’ Being Remastered for HBO Marathon
Fans of “The Wire,” rejoice; your series is coming back — and it's getting a touch-up. HBO is remastering the David Simon series for HD, which ran from 2002 to 2008, with an eye toward airing a marathon of the series. Also read: ‘The Wire’ Creator David Simon to Lead Oprah's Mlk Miniseries for HBO The crime drama, which chronicled police investigations of the criminal underbelly of Baltimore, starred Dominic West, Idris Elba, Wendell Pierce and Michael K. Williams, among others. It is not yet known when the marathon will air. HBO initially planned to launch the marathon in September, however, the episodes are still under review.
