Lynda Carter, Cobie Smulders: A history of Wonder Woman on screen
Wonder Woman has been ready for her feature film closeup longer than just about any other comic book character, and it's now confirmed that Fast Five actress Gal Gadot will step up to play the Amazonian superheroine opposite Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck in Warner Bros's upcoming Superman vs Batman.
But while the character doesn't have the cinematic history of a Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne, many actresses before Gadot wielded Diana Prince's lasso, and in fact Gadot will technically be beaten to the "first big-screen Wonder Woman" post by a well-known Marvel Studios actress. Controversial.
