James Morton has criticised "haters" who insult people on The Great British Bake Off.

Last year's finalist on the BBC Two competition hit out at people who continuously take insults about contestants too far on Twitter.

Writing on his blog, Morton stated that he was upset to read "fascist publications" that document "abhorrent" comments online.

He said: "This year's cruelty isn't a unique occurrence to any particular Bake Off contestant. It happens across the board; it was there last year and, like these last few weeks, was targeted at the perceived younger and more attractive women."
