Orlando Cruz lost his title fight on Saturday night in a knockout in the seventh round. He had a rough start to the evening, his gym bag misplaced, his entry music lost, and his hands not even taped fifteen minutes before the fight. Parts of the crowd were shouting “Puta, puta.” But his opponent, Orlando Salido, said Cruz being gay didn’t matter. “None of that stuff matters. He is a very strong, tough fighter.” As for Cruz, it’s time to relax, reflect. Oh – and get married to his fiancé on November 16th.
