David runs into trouble over Damadam Mast Kalandar song

Bejoy Nambiar's upcoming film, David, has run into trouble over the popular folk song 'Dama Dam Mast Kalandar'. The Sindhi Community has opposed to the usage of the song and has requested the makers, Reliance Entertainment and Central Board of Film Certification (Cbfc) to take the song off air, as it sends out a wrong message, given the way it is portrayed in the promo. The song was originally written by poet Aamir Khusro and then modified by Sufi poet Bulleh Shah. It was composed in the honour of the most reversed spiritual figures in the Sindhi Community, Shahbaz Qalandar and Jhulelal. The email sent to the filmmaker stated that the community had issues with the love making scenes and violence scenes picturised on the song.
