The film Left Behind is exactly what you think it is. It tells the story of a family that was left behind after The Rapture, which (for those of you who might not be familiar with the term), according to Christians, is the second coming of Jesus Christ. It’s been announced that actress Ashley Tisdale has been cast to play Nicolas Cage’s daughter in said film.

Left Behind follows Chloe Steele, the daughter of Cage’s Ray Steele, who wanders America looking to find any remaining members of her family after millions of people disappear from Earth. Chad Michael Murray is also attached to star.

Vic Armstrong, best known for his work as a stunt coordinator, is directing the film, which is actually an adaptation of the bestselling faith-based novels by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. Previously, there was a trilogy of Left Behind movies, starring Kirk Cameron.
