Sony Pictures Classics has acquired North American rights to Michael Haneke's latest film "Amour," starring Isabelle Huppert. This marks their third time collaborating together following "Time of the Wolf" and "The Piano Teacher," which won Huppert the Best Actress award at Cannes. Here's the plot per Sony Pictures: In the film, Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant) and Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) are in their eighties. They are cultivated, retired music teachers. Their daughter (Huppert), who is also a musician, lives abroad with her family. One day, Anne has an attack. The couple's bond of love is severely tested. Sony Pictures Classics released Haneke's "Cache" and "The White Ribbon." The film is rumored to premiere at Cannes.
