“Battlestar Galactica” showrunner Ron Moore’s attempt at blending “NYPD Blue” with “Harry Potter” in a new show called “17th Precinct” didn’t get picked up by NBC, but if it had, this is what you would have seen. Check out the full pilot episode for “17th Precinct”, and sigh at what could have been. “17th Precinct” starred a bunch of former “Battlestar Galactica” castmembers, including Tricia Helfer, Jamie Bamber, and James Callis. (“Smallville’s” Kristin Kreuk was also added to the cast later.) Everyone has since moved on to other shows, so it looks unlikely “17th Precinct” will ever actually get on the air now, so this will probably be your first and only look at the show. I gotta admit, it sure looks … different. I guess it was Too different for the network. After all, we’re talking about a TV landscape that includes 500 clones of “CSI”. Hard...
