A lot has been said and written about Partner 2, the sequel to the immensely successful Partner. The film, starring Salman Khan and Govinda, was a major money-spinner then; it marked the return of Govinda after a hiatus. Subsequently, one kept hearing that a sequel to the smash hit was on the cards and David Dhawan was working on a fresh script that would surpass the first part by leaps and bounds. Rumours were rife that David had cracked the idea of the sequel, but Salman wasn't too happy with it. The latest is that Partner 2, with Salman and Govinda, has been abandoned. Confirms David, "We didn't get the right script. Also, Salman got too busy and has commitments to fulfill, before he undertakes fresh assignments. Besides, the remake of Chashme Buddoor [directed by David] starts filming shortly. Hence, we mutually decided to drop the idea of making the sequel."...
