General Lew Wallace's "Tale of the Christ" (light on the Christ) was filmed twice before Charlton Heston grabbed ahold of the chariot reins. MGM, producer Sam Zimbalist and director William Wyler presented Ben-Hur in the super-wide "MGM Camera 65," which was producer-speak for "please, God, don't ditch going to the movies for television!!"
Ben-Hur, the winner of an unprecedented 11 Academy Awards is ready for its close-up on Blu-ray. The 1080p resolution and three-hundred and forty-seven hours worth of bonus features and commentary prove that it is the Best Movie Ever.
