The Gotham Marcie Bloom Fellowship in Film has unveiled the names of filmmakers who will participate in the upcoming 14th edition.
The selected fellows are Ahnmin Lee, Anndi Liggett, Jingjing Tian, Joecar Hanna and Maryam Mir. All five New York-based filmmakers will take part in a year-long mentorship. As part of the program, participants will meet regularly with industry guests and leaders of the fellowship.
Created in 2009, the Fellowship has played a key role in helping promising new filmmakers connect with their peers within the community and develop their feature debuts. Alumni include Sarna Lapine, who directed Jake Gyllenhaal in the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Sunday in the Park with George” on Broadway, Silka Luisa, creator of the Apple TV+ series “Shining Girls” starring Elizabeth Moss, Wagner Moura and Jamie Bell.

Exclusive: Sundance Institute has named the recipients of the inaugural Uprise Grant Fund and Arts Organization Grants, supporting Bipoc artists.
The Uprise Grant Fund specifically looks to uplift Bipoc artists, whose careers and creative development have been harmed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 38 U.S.-based artists selected for the grant are Yasmin Almanaseer, Fatimah Asghar, Hadeel Assali, Lena Chen, Edyka Chilomé, Dominic Colón, Min Ding, Mandolin Eisenberg, Ash Goh Hau, Leandro Fabrizi, Kayla Farrish, Brittany Franklin, Dickie Hearts, Armando Ibanez, Carlos Ibarra, Cashmere Jasmine, Henry Alexander Kelly, Patrick G. The Bentonville Film Festival (Bff) announced final additions to their programming which includes the world premiere of the Netflix film Good Sam starring Tiya Sircar. The fest, which was co-created by Geena Davis and champions inclusion in all forms of media, has also added spotlight screenings of Gurinder Chadha’s Sundance Springsteen hit Blinded By The Light from New Line Cinema as well as Stx’s animated feature UglyDolls. Now in its fifth year, the festival kicked off May 7 and continues through May 11 in Bentonville, Ark.
