Tee Grizzley and Future have teamed up to drop new track “Swear To God” on Friday.
The hard-hitting single opens with the lyrics: “Fuck your album, shit ain’t slapping like my mixtape.” When the rapper tweeted a coded announcement of the track on Thursday, he did so by tweeting the vicious opening line on X, which many speculated as a covert shot at Gunna, whose album One of Wun had already been announced as releasing today as well. Two of Gunna’s subsequent posts were assumed to be responses.

It's been more than two decades since Naoki Urasawa started publishing a manga based on a story arc from Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy. Urasawa changed many details in his reinterpretation, but his new version of the story has been capturing the public imagination since its first issue in 2003.
Now the reinterpretation has been interpreted again – as an animated series. And it turns out, it's really, really good.
So What's The Story?
Pluto takes place in the aftermath of a massive war involving both humans and robots. Now the world is at peace, and thanks to new laws (and programming) it's been eight years since a robot has killed a human. Robots are also now granted equal rights.
When a powerful, famous, and beloved war hero robot is found destroyed, Europol robot detective Gesicht is sent to investigate. As the bodies start piling up, Gesicht realizes that he may be...

If the most terrifying horror monsters are the ones that most reflect real-life terror, then cinematic cannibals might be the most terrifying monsters of all. Unlike vampires, werewolves, or ghosts, cannibals on film are fully flesh-and-blood humans — just with a taste for the flesh and blood of other humans. The garishness of the act makes cannibalism a perfect subject for shock horror, and the cannibal film fully came alive in the ’70s and ’80s via low-budget splatter triumphs like “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Cannibal Holocaust,” which pitted their protagonists against horrific waves of flesh eaters.
In recent years, cannibalism has had a bit of a “moment” — on film, at least. As The New York Times pointed out in 2022, a wave of movies, TV shows, and books exploring cannibalism has emerged in popular culture, from “Yellowjackets” to “Bones and All” to “Fresh.” Many of these projects use the practice as...

Pluto introduces Professor Abullah as the head of the Ministry of Science in the Republic of Persia. He’s one of the most intelligent scientists in the world and is hailed for ushering his native country into the age of advanced robotics. He’s portrayed as a man in his early sixties with a calm and calculated demeanor who doesn’t indulge himself in friendly banter with another fellow scientist, except for a few who share the same level of intelligence as him, which includes Professor Tenma, Professor Ochanomizu, and Professor Hoffman.
Spoilers Ahead
Why Did Abullah Start The Bora Project?
For years, the Kingdom of Persia was criticized by the United States of Thrasia for creating robots that could transform into world-destroying weapons. However, the Kingdom of Persia wasn’t developing any world-destroying robots but harvester robots that could transform Persia’s barren and sandy lands into lush greenery.

One of the most notable criteria that establishes a work of art as classic in the true sense of the term is its lasting relevance through different periods of time, which can also be achieved by the scope of reinterpretation provided by the creator as well. Known as the “Father of Manga,” Osamu Tezuka’s masterpiece Astro Boy has proven to be such a piece of art that retains a timeless essence at its core—something that has inspired artists for the last sixty years. The story of Atom, a superpowered android kid whose humanity is his greatest asset, captivated fans of all ages, but most importantly, another legendary mangaka, Naoki Urasawa.
As they say, greatness inspires greatness, Urasawa decided to put his own grim-dark, mystery spin into retelling the most significant story arc of Astro Boy, known as ‘The Greatest Robot on Earth’—and thus, Pluto was created. A tale,...

Osamu Tezuka's "Astro Boy" birthed manga, and in turn, anime, as we know these mediums today. Manga author Naoki Urasawa has said that the "Astro Boy" arc "The Greatest Robot on Earth" was the first comic he ever read. Enter "Pluto," Urasawa's reimagining of that story, now adapted itself into an anime mini-series distributed by Netflix.
I'm only tangentially familiar with Tezuka's original manga, essentially a sci-fi "Pinocchio." In a futuristic world where robots are commonplace, young Tobio Tenma dies in a car crash. So, his scientist father creates a robotic replicant of his son. The result is the android superhero Astro Boy. "Pluto" fills in the basics of this backstory but doesn't dwell on them, for "Atom" is just one player in a larger story.
Across the world, someone is killing both the most advanced robots and the human scientists who built or advocated for them. At the...

The Ushers are nothing if not predictable.
It's not clear what the root cause of their downfall will be, but if anyone were to take a guess, it would be their stupid predictability.
The Fall of the House of Usher Season 1 Episode 3 dealt with the aftermath of Perry's disastrous orgy while Verna infused herself deeper into the Usher family to pick them off individually.
In the wake of Perry's death, the family moved to seek answers about how something like that could have happened.
By his admission, Roderick knew he was to blame for Perry's death because his carelessness and gluttony for profit had seen him overlook serious concerns, and even when the government intervened, he failed to demolish the house.
He had failed Perry on so many fronts as a father, and the building was the climax of that failure. He had plucked Perry from the obscurity of his...

This post contains spoilers for episodes 3 & 4 of "The Fall of the House of Usher."
Horror director Mike Flanagan rarely relies on frequent jumpscares to deliver shocks and thrills, and his oeuvre primarily consists of raw, emotion-driven stories that aim to excavate the depths of the human psyche. To no one's surprise, his "The Fall of the House of Usher" — a modern reimagining of Edgar Allan Poe's short story of the same name, amalgamated with a dozen references to his work — also dives deep into the rot of emotions that fester, until they're potent enough to topple a formidable personal empire. Apart from the grisly deaths that mark almost every episode in this limited series, there are two instances of fairly graphic animal harm/death that can be potentially disturbing, especially for those who love and adore cats, whose presence takes on a special significance in the context of the Ushers and Poe's work.

Bone Tomahawk (2015)
Director S. Craig Zahler made his feature debut with this excellent blend of the horror and Western genres, which pits a group of men – played by Kurt Russell, Richard Jenkins, Matthew Fox, and Patrick Wilson – against a group of cave-dwelling cannibals who have taken the wife of Wilson’s character captive. With a running time of 132 minutes, Bone Tomahawk takes its time showing the men’s journey to the tribe’s cave… but when the violence breaks out, it’s worth the wait. If you can stomach the gore.

U.S. film financier Grandave Capital will invest in the documentary “Romano Artioli – The Last Great Dreamer,” about the one-time owner of the Bugatti and Lotus automobile brands, Romano Artioli.
In 1952, Artioli, a 20-year-old technician in Italy watched in astonishment as Bugatti ceased production in Molsheim, France. Artioli studied mechanical engineering and went on to repair cars, before eventually setting up an automotive retail and import business. By the mid-1980s, this business became so successful that Artioli was able to begin discussions with the French government about buying the Bugatti brand. In 1987, his dream became a reality.
The documentary showcases Artioli and his passion for beauty and sportscars leading him to revive Bugatti and also relaunch Lotus, building iconic cars. As visionaries in automotive were replaced by white collar managers who tried to cut him out, Artioli managed to react swiftly, pushing through his ambitious vision.

David Zaslav sounds tired of taking lumps.
After months of cost cutting, write-downs, and getting pilloried among Hollywood natives for killing projects, the Warner Bros. Discovery chief showed off some new truculence, making the case that while his newly-merged company has been having a tough time, so too were others.

Over the course of an hour, Zasalv and Gunnar Wiedenfels, Warner’s chief financial officer, made the case that their company was just as well-equipped as any of its rivals — perhaps even more so — to withstand a stormy era during which media companies are pressed to grow their streaming operations but maintain profitability. In our Q&a series Last Call, we get down to the bottom of every last thing with some of our favorite celebs - from the last time they were starstruck to the last song they listened to. This week, Jordan Hull takes our call.
Jordan Hull knows you might be upset about the season three premiere of "The L Word: Generation Q," which aired on Showtime on Nov. 20. That's because her character, Angie, is dumped by her girlfriend, Jordi (Sophie Giannamore), mere hours after arriving at her freshman year of college. But Hull isn't that upset.
"In life, I don't anticipate any high school relationship being the one, and I hope for me that just never happens," she tells Popsugar. "I think with Angie and Jordi, it was cute, it was fun, but it definitely needed to be done." From Angie's perspective, she says, "Jordi can be difficult sometimes.

Warner Bros. Discovery chief executive David Zaslav said Tuesday that entertainment companies are facing a huge challenge — the advertising market is crumbling just as studios are diverting cash to fuel a massive arms race in streaming.
“The advertising market right now is very weak … quite weak,” Zaslav said during a presentation at Rbc’s annual technology investor conference. “This is weaker than it was during Covid, and right now there is a pretty big miss of the whole Christmas season.”
Despite his concerns about the ad market, Zaslav reaffirmed Warner Bros. Discovery’s plans to launch a free ad-supported streaming service to compete with Pluto and Tubi. And he predicted a recovery with the return of the NBA and NHL, adding that Wbd took a greater ad hit in recent months since “we don’t have local and we didn’t have sport.”

Despite his roots in comedy, Jordan Peele has become synonymous with horror over the last few years. His 2017 Oscar-winning film "Get Out" — which won Best Original Screenplay — received wide recognition for its smart, socially aware film about a young Black man, Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), who goes to spend the weekend at his white girlfriend Rose's (Allison Williams) family estate. The film is a searing example of how the horror genre can be utilized to effectively convey important ideas about social justice issues — "Get Out" is a stark examination of racism and being Black in America — and is an extremely important film not just for horror but for movies in general. It also helped to catapult Peele to the top of the horror director food chain, establishing him as one of the most important directors working today.

Disney fans young and old love a great adventure with Mickey Mouse and the gang. Over the years, Mickey and pals have headlined a variety of shows, each taking viewers on fun and fantastical adventures. The gang’s latest television hit is the Disney Junior animated series, “Mickey Mouse Funhouse.”
Mickey and the gang find the magic funhouse, Funny, in the woods. When Funny calls to them, they each hop in a car to race to their old clubhouse from “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” From there the gang attaches their cars together to create the “Floaty Coaster” to fly to the funhouse. Funny then lets the gang choose between three themed doors for their adventure. The gang is then transported to a new destination and ready to solve any problem they might face. They come across friends, old and new, and Funny comes along too, morphing into different shapes to fit in.

Of the TV shows released so far in 2022, Apple TV+’s “Severance” has got to rank among the best. While it is understandably too early to roll out such awards, one must however give credit to the producers of the show for creating such a brilliant piece. The comedic horror television series has racked up a total of 14 Emmy nominations. What more can be proof that this is another masterpiece from Ben Stiller?
“Severance” had such a warm reception in its first outing which made the producers greenlight the show for a second season while the first was still airing. The finale had a lot of suspenseful moments which has built such a big hype around the upcoming season.
When is the release date for “Severance” season two and what should you expect? This article discusses all the information available yet about the upcoming season — the cast, release date, and the storyline.

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland and Bachelorette alum Wells Adams tied the knot on Saturday after pandemic-postponing their wedding twice.
The newlyweds had a beautiful and intimate outdoor ceremony at Sunstone Winery near Santa Barbara, California. Modern Family stars like Sofia Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Nolan Gould and Julie Bowen were all in attendance to support their former costar on her special day.
Hyland and Adams first Twitter-flirted in 2016 and began officially dating in 2017. The lovebirds announced their engagement in 2019 when Adams posted a romantic clip of his stunning oceanside proposal on Instagram. The Bachelor In Paradise star captioned his video with sweet Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors lyrics, “I’ll be Jonny, you be June. But forever.”
The couple had originally planned to get married in 2020 before the outbreak of Covid-19.
Adams joked in August 2021 that he and his then-fianceé would “go to Vegas or the courthouse” if there were any more wedding setbacks.

Paramount Global’s free streaming outlet Pluto TV has launched channels dedicated to syndication mainstays Judge Judy and Let’s Make a Deal and plans to debut Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! channels on August 1.
The moves are part of a broader reorganization and expansion of the programming categories offered by Pluto, with five new ones bringing the total to 18. Game shows, reality and daytime TV series “have shown to be incredibly popular” with viewers, Pluto said in a press release. Thus, the expanded offerings in those areas.
Pluto, which launched in 2013, was an early innovator in streaming with its cable-like on-screen channel guide and emphasis on linear programming. Rivals leaned more toward on-demand fare, though many have added linear offerings in recent years.
Paramount’s distribution arm has long handled the traditional linear carriage of a number of top-rated syndicated shows, and is now looking to leverage that position in streaming.

Soon after the birth of Mickey Mouse, one animator raised Walt Disney Productions far beyond Walt’s expectations. That animator also led a union war that almost destroyed the company. Art Babbitt worked for the Disney studio throughout the 1930s and up to 1941, years in which he and Walt were driven to elevate animation as an art form, as seen in Snow White, Pinocchio, and Fantasia. But as America emerged from the Great Depression, labor unions spread across Hollywood. Disney fought the unions while Babbitt embraced them. Soon, angry Disney cartoon characters graced picket signs as hundreds of artists went out on strike…

For older television audiences raised on cable, ViacomCBS’ free ad-supported Pluto TV service might be a flashback to their youth: hundreds of genre-specific linear channels to flip through while navigating via a helpful on-screen program guide.
But Pluto TV execs chuckle as they share a very different reaction from the under-25 Netflix generation. That demo isn’t used to channel surfing and tends to find the whole thing novel as it un-ironically raves about the “innovative user interface.”
“We’re almost like the resurgence of vinyl,” quips ViacomCBS streaming president and CEO Tom Ryan, who co-founded Pluto TV four years ago. “Here comes something that is in some ways nostalgic and reminds people of something that is comfortable to them. While the backdrop for a lot of the industry has been about how linear is declining and people don’t like linear — I just think that’s fundamentally false.”

Updated: Disney Plus opened its doors Tuesday — but some fans immediately encountered problems trying to access the streaming service.
Multiple users on social media said they had trouble signing in to Disney Plus when it first went live, while others said they had problems accessing specific content or using features (like setting up a watch list).
Irate users vented online, sharing screenshots of errors messages that said “Unable to connect to Disney+.” One of the error messages, appropriately enough, showed characters from Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph” and “Ralph Breaks the Internet” movies (pictured above); another one shows Mickey Mouse and Pluto in spacesuits adrift on an asteroid.
Disney Plus’ customer help account on Twitter blamed the problems on unexpectedly high demand. “The consumer demand for Disney+ has exceeded our high expectations,” the company said in a tweet at 9:59 a.m. Et. “We are working to quickly resolve the current user issue.

In Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “The Black Cat” (1843) a large feline named Pluto follows the narrator “with a pertinacity which it would be difficult to make the reader comprehend.” Poe’s narrator struggles to put into words how, exactly, this pursuit fills him with terror. Cinema has provided a solution to capturing the elusive, uncanny cat: its quiet steps, eerily graceful jumps, gleaming eyes, and mythologized ability to dodge death nine-fold. Unlike dogs, cats are more independent and can’t be relied on to come when they’re called. Cats are expert at hiding, fitting into unbelievably tiny spaces, and their claws are extremely sharp. Hovering in the liminal field between wilderness and domestication, the house cat is often used in horror to parallel the genre’s interest in showing the disintegration of the home or domestic life into chaos. Poe’s story has been loosely adapted as a horror film several times,...

Fans of Jordan Peele's latest box office smash, Us, may have spent hours digging up Easter eggs and analyzing eerie imagery only to discover that one of the film's most prominent metaphors is the use of the color red. This motif begins as the film opens on a seaside amusement park one Summer evening in 1986. An 8-year-old girl named Adelaide strolls along the boardwalk with her inattentive parents. Moments later, Adelaide wanders off alone, drawn to a mysterious energy emanating from a funhouse on the beach. The second she begins her solo journey, the color red becomes a dominant symbolic force attempting to warn our doomed protagonist of the dangers to come.
Warning: major spoiler follow.
If you recall, the last thing Adelaide grips in her hand before she enters the house of horrors is a bright red candied apple. The camera lingers on the fruit's glossy surface before she enters the maze.

Jordan Peele's new horror thriller Us is creeping out audiences left and right. With a series of unsettling twists - some of which are all the more unsettling for being somewhat plausible - Us has become the buzzy movie sensation of the Spring.
Warning: spoilers ahead!
One of the big twists in the movie is the presence of evil doppelgangers called the Tethered, the results of a government cloning experiment gone awry. Although few of the doubles are named on screen, the end credits reveal that all of them have names - some of which are laden with meaning.
Red (Lupita Nyong'o) is a nickname that has some historical significance, especially in the context of a rebel character. Malcolm X, in his early years of criminal activity in Harlem, went by the nickname "Detroit Red." In American culture, "red" is a historically loaded term in other ways, as it...

When two people bear a striking resemblance to one another, we often call those similarities uncanny. The word is so rarely used outside that context, in fact, that we may forget its most basic definition: “seeming to have a supernatural character or origin.” For two things to have a truly uncanny resemblance, simply looking alike isn’t enough — they have to arouse discomfort for being nearly, but not entirely, identical. The more alike they are, the more unsettling their small differences become.
Jordan Peele understands that distinction, and he puts it to effective use in his second film, “Us.” A horror-thriller about a family of four confronted by their ill-intentioned doppelgängers, it brings to mind not only such genre influences as “The Twilight Zone” but also this passage from Sigmund Freud’ 1919 essay “The Uncanny”:
“The subject of the ‘uncanny’ is a province of this kind. It is undoubtedly related...

The Bible verse is referenced in Jordan Peele's new horror movie, Us, but what does it say about the film?
*Contains major spoilers for Us*
Jordan Peele’s latest horror, Us, is out in theaters today and it’s great (read our review). A genuinely terrifying and also really funny political chiller, it stars Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke and sees a family tormented at the hands of a group of strangers who look just like them. The script is terrific and it’s packed with clever references and bits of foreshadowing, one of which is a reocurring image of a man holding a sign which reads "Jeremiah 11:11." What that particular passage in the Bible says, and indeed what it means, is never revealed in the film.
So we’ll have a go at breaking it down...

Starting tonight, Jordan Peele’s Us will be officially unleashed in theaters everywhere, and this writer is so excited to see what horror fans think of his latest genre entry (you can read my spoiler-free review Here). Starring Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, and Tim Heidecker, Us is centered around a quiet vacation with the Wilson family as they head out to Santa Cruz looking to relax and enjoy the summer, but find themselves confronted by a group of doppelgängers that look exactly like their clan. And from there, things only get worse.
In the film, both Wright Joseph and Alex portray the younger members of the Wilsons—Zora and Jason—as well as their evil counterparts Umbrae and Pluto, and for as much as the adult lookalikes are terrifying here, it’s the kids who help amp things up, making Us an incredibly unsettling experience for viewers.

We consider where the Sailor Moon movies fit within the franchise as a whole.
The Sailor Moon movies are an interesting case. Three in number, though not what one could structurally or stylistically consider a trilogy, each is named for a season of the anime and loosely based on that season. Very loosely based. In fact, since the release of these films, moonies have debated their exact place in the continuity and how they fit into the Sailor Moon mythos.
The short answer is, well… they don’t.
One film is based on a manga side story, another on some design sketches, and the third on the aesthetic of probably the most maligned arc of the anime. None of the films even attempt to conform to their associated seasons aside from the heroes’ magical items, transformations, and attacks, and perhaps some thematic imagery, nor do they...

Wes Anderson seems to love talking animals. So much so that he has made not one, but two, stop-motion movies starring verbal animals: first, “The Fantastic Mr. Fox,” which featured the voice of George Clooney in the title role, followed by the endlessly eccentric “Isle of Dogs.” This delightful outing opens with a card that reads, “All barks have been rendered into English,” and sure enough, Anderson assembled many of his favorite actors — Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Tilda Swinton — to do the honors.
That decision has since inspired many a think piece, in which critics questioned the politics of Anderson’s choices. It’s a valid debate, but I’d prefer to tackle another question: Namely, why do we accept talking dogs in the first place?
The earliest example I can find in Western civilization dates back to “Don Quixote” author Miguel de Cervantes, who penned a novella...

Pluto TV is further extending its movie offering in Britain by launching a streaming platform, Pluto TV Indies, dedicated to independent films, arthouse award-winners, film festival circuit highlights, world cinema, and theatrical documentaries. The company plans to launch an additional Pluto TV World Cinema in the second quarter of 2019.
“At Pluto TV we are devoted to developing the right environment for quality content,” said Olivier Jollet, Pluto TV’s managing director for Europe. “Independent films create worlds filled with boundless energy, provocative exploration, and unencumbered narratives, but often their reach to a wider audience is limited, while film enthusiasts struggle to find offerings customized to their preferences.”
Pluto TV Indies joins Pluto TV Movies as the second film-only channel on Pluto’s U.K. offering, which launched last October. Pluto says its advertising-funded, free-to-watch model creates a “custom-fit environment for cineastes to discover new favorites and creators to showcase their work.

Future lounges in a white office, in a cream coat, occasionally flashing his pearly white teeth. It’s the eighth anniversary of Dirty Sprite, the 2011 mixtape that served as the foundation for an impossibly prolific run for the rapper. The tape — and everything that came with it; the drink, the drugs, the Future persona — spawned an era. Now, Nayvadius Wilburn is declaring the end of that chapter, split between relief and haunted by what, exactly, he wrought.
“I made it seem so cool,” Future says, sadly. “I made it seem so fucking cool.

Deadpool isn’t shy when it comes to making quips, but it turns out the Merc With a Mouth is no match for 20th Century Fox. Ryan Reynolds tells Entertainment Weekly that the studio behind his R-rated superhero franchise forced him to remove a Disney-related joke from the upcoming “Deadpool 2.” Reynolds co-wrote the film with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
“This is a sore spot for me because there’s a joke in the movie that is not in the movie now because — I’m probably not even allowed to say this — Fox made me take it out,” Reynolds said. “It had more to do with Disney, and they made me take it out. Reynolds did not disclose the reason why the joke was pulled, but Entertainment Weekly suggests it had something to do with the Disney-Fox merger.

20th Century Fox always starts its CinemaCon presentations with a musical number, and this year it was A Chorus Line — girls in red bustiers dancing along to the Broadway show’s signature song “One” as Deadpool himself came twirling onstage.
That was followed by Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) beaming in via video saying that he can’t be there, and that Fox distribution chief Chris Aronson was running late. Deadpool greeted exhibitors in the room by saying “when do we get this self-congratulatory orgy of non-exhibitionists going?” Aronson then wakes up in bed in a The Greatest Showman get-up and says, “I’m totally f*cked.” Hugh Jackman joins the duo in the hotel room, and Deadpool tells him “it looks like Comcast really dodged the bullet,” which received a number of laughs from the room. More Disney-Fox merger jokes: a costumed Pluto wakes up in the background of the...
