She and husband Erik Allen Ford had just closed on the home less than one month before it the tragedy. “Three weeks ago we got keys to our new LA place in Rustic Canyon,” Leanne wrote in a January 10 Instagram post. “We were excited (though me — a bit hesitant…) to start spending some time again in our favorite part of LA. A beautiful historical and quirky artists’ home. We brought over so many of our favorite things to fill it with. It was to be a place to write, to create. Three days ago we lost it.” The Restored by the Fords star shared pictures of the rubble that remained after her home burned to the ground.

The third quarter of 2019 was a particularly good one to own TLC — just ask Discovery (or its shareholders).
Wall Street forecast Discovery’s Q3 earnings per share would come in at 82 cents on revenue of $2.68 billion, according to a consensus compiled by Yahoo Finance. On Thursday, the company actually reported adjusted earnings of 87 cents per share on revenue of $2.678 billion.
That all-in revenue number represents a +3% growth from the comparable quarter last year. Advertising and distribution revenues both grew in the three-month period ended Sept. 30, 2019.

Former Hgtv “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have announced the first original series for their upcoming Magnolia Network — but it has nothing to do with home renovation.
“Home on the Road” (working title), a six-episode reality show, will follow the husband and wife tandem of Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez as they tour North America with their band Johnnyswim. Ramirez and Sudano will have their kids, Joaquin, 4, and daughter Luna, 1, in tow. And, oh yeah, eight band and crew members will also be along for the ride.

Leanne Ford, like a normal person, loves using the color white generously when designing her spaces. My wife does not, which means I lose the argument in front of the swatch-wall every time.
With the “Rock the Block” star on the phone ahead of her big series premiere, I asked the designer of “Restored by the Fords” — her other Hgtv series — to explain to me how to properly explain to my wife why white rules.
“I just really believe in white paint. I think it is the blank canvas, and what it does is it allows everything else in the room to shine and be important,” Ford said. “It’s really fail-proof. It always looks good, it always looks current, and it always looks timeless. There’s no white space through time that you think, ‘That looks dated.'”
