Back at the end of "Cobra Kai" season 2 and the huge school karate brawl, Aisha Robinson (Nichole Brown) left West Valley High School to the disappointment of a whole lot of fans, including me. Aisha, who had been friends with Sam (Mary Mouser) since childhood, had already been through a lot. When Sam started to hang with the popular girls, Aisha got bullied. She became the first female member of Cobra Kai, kicked all sorts of butt, got all buddy-buddy with Tory (Peyton List), tried to stop Sam from drinking until she's sick, and finally seemed to find her own way. She had...

Why aren’t there more Asians in Cobra Kai?
Since Cobra Kai first premiered on YouTube, The Los Angeles Times, Vanity Fair, and other publications have called out the series for its lack of Asianness. The series also scored poorly on UCLA’s 2020 Hollywood Diversity Report. Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and Carmen (Vanessa Rubio) are the only non-white main characters. This was exacerbated when the recently-released season 3 excluded Aisha (Nichole Brown), a major character of color who was a fan favorite.
Granted, Cobra Kai does have a few non-white actors in reccurring roles. They just aren’t leads. Nate Oh plays Nathaniel, but he is a minor character with minimal development. Kyler (Joe Seo) was the first bully to appear in Cobra Kai constantly harassing Miguel. To their credit, the writers made him a wrestler instead of a stereotypical martial artist, just because he’s Asian.

This article contains Cobra Kai season 3 spoilers.
Cobra Kai season 3 brought back several beloved characters from the original Karate Kid movies including Daniel’s first two loves, Ali (Elisabeth Shue) and Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita), Daniel’s second major nemesis Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) and many more. In the process, however, season 3 also left some Cobra Kai characters on the sidelines. Fans sorely missed Aisha Robinson (Nichole Brown) and Raymond a.k.a. ‘Stingray’ (Paul Walter Hauser). Aisha has been part of the series since the beginning. She was the first female student of Johnny’s (William Zabka) Cobra Kai Dojo. Stingray first appeared in season 2 and has been the oldest Cobra Kai student so far.
Aisha is dismissed within the season 3 premiere episode ‘Aftermath.’ There’s a curt explanation that her parents moved her to private school after the catastrophic fight at the end of season 2. That seems appropriate. Given the damage to the student body,...

Netflix's Cobra Kai returned for season three on Jan. 1, but there is one familiar face missing. During the season three premiere, it's revealed that Aisha's parents moved her to a private school after the big fight between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do and put their home up for sale. Seeing how big of a role her character played in the previous two seasons, her absence is definitely felt. So, why did actress Nichole Brown leave the show? Well, it sounds like it wasn't entirely her choice.
In September 2019, Brown broke the news that she would not be reprising her role as Aisha in an Instagram Story, writing, "Officially Not in Season 3 of #CobraKai. Unfortunate, but thank you for the opportunity and time I had on the show." She added that she was let go because the writers couldn't find a place for her character in the scripts.

Cobra Kai fans have a lot to look forward to.
The beloved series was saved by Netflix earlier this year, and fans will get their first fresh episodes a week earlier than planned.
With all ten episodes set to be available to stream on January 1, the new season will also say goodbye to a beloved character.
Fan-favorite Aisha (played by Nichole Brown) will not be a part of the third season.
"Officially Not in Season 3 of #CobraKai… Unfortunate, but thank you for the opportunity and time I had on the show," the actress shared last year.
In a new interview with TV Line, executive producer and co-showrunner Jon Hurwitz confirmed that Aisha would not be back during the third chapter.
However, he also confirmed that fans would get closure during the first episode back, which will shed light on the exit.
"Certain characters we loved in Season 1 didn't appear at all in Season 2, like Kyler,...

When Cobra Kai‘s fist-throwing, hell-raising karate students head back to the dojo, there’s going to be one empty spot on the mat.
Season 3 of the Karate Kid sequel series returns Friday, Jan. 1 (all 10 episodes, Netflix), but as Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do deal with the aftermath of the violent brawl that left Miguel hospitalized, Nichole Brown’s Aisha will be noticeably absent.

“Cobra Kai” has been picked up for a third season at YouTube Premium, Variety has learned.
Season 2 of the series premiered on April 24. The series, a continuation of the story from the original “Karate Kid” film franchise, features William Zabka and Ralph Macchio reprising their roles from the films.
In Season 1, Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) reopened the Cobra Kai dojo and introduced its no-mercy style of karate to a new generation of students. Daniel Larusso (Macchio), now a successful businessman, clashes with Lawrence and their old rivalry is reborn. In Season 2, after Cobra Kai’s controversial win at the All Valley Championships, Larusso decides to open his own dojo called Miyagi-do in honor of his late mentor, Mr. Miyagi.
Season 2 also stars Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Courtney Henggeler, Jacob Bertrand, Nichole Brown, and Peyton List. Martin Kove appears in the role of John Kreese, reprising his role from the films.

My new favorite series (and should be yours) is officially getting a second season! Cobra Kai, the sequel series to 1984’s The Karate Kid, is receiving a second season over at YouTube Red.
YouTube’s global head of original content, Susanne Daniels, had this to say in a statement:
“This series had all of the right elements from the very beginning — compelling characters, a storied rivalry, and the talented original stars. The way viewers have embraced the new twist on this beloved franchise has been nothing short of amazing, and we’re thrilled to partner with Sony TV, Overbrook and the extraordinary creative team led by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg to create a second season.”
Cobra Kai sees Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) in their adult lives as they deal with life after the All Valley Tournament.
The renewal comes as no surprise...
