In Fox’s “Crime Scene Kitchen,” it’s not (entirely) about who wins or loses the most-delicious-baked-good portion, it’s about how you play the baking-detective game.

For the second season, which premieres Monday at 9 p.m., host Joel McHale and judge Yolanda Gampp said the competition becomes even harder, as it includes both self-taught and classically trained bakers who come at deciphering the mystery baked goods in very different ways. This season also throws savory recipes into the mix in an attempt to trip up contestants who saw only sweet treats featured in Season 1.

Fox is serving up a new season of Joel McHale’s mystery baking competition “Crime Scene Kitchen” in two weeks and bringing several new celebrity guest judges along for the ride.

Variety can exclusively reveal that the lineup of Season 2’s famous faces includes “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum NeNe Leakes, country music star Martina McBride, “Next Level Chef” (a Gordon Ramsay-led Fox food competition) and “Top Chef” star Richard Blais and NBA champ and “Special Forces” (yet another Fox competition) contestant Dwight Howard.

Those guest judges will pop in during different episodes this season to join host McHale and full-time judges Curtis Stone and Yolanda Gampp in their evaluations.

Fox’s culinary competition series Crime Scene Kitchen‘s set to kick off season two on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 8pm Et/Pt with 12 new teams of bakers. The six teams of classically trained bakers and six teams of self-taught bakers will be competing for a grand prize of $100,000, with Joel McHale returning to guide the competition as host.

Chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp will also return to judge the Crime Scene Kitchen season two bakers.

Fox’s summer 2023 primetime lineup will include new seasons of Crime Scene Kitchen, Beat Shazam, Don’t Forget the Lyrics, and MasterChef. Plus, Fox is adding Gordon Ramsay’s new competition series Food Stars to its schedule beginning May 24th.

The network also confirmed season finale dates for Animal Control on May 4, Call Me Kat on May 4, Family Guy on May 7, Fantasy Island on May 8, Accused on May 9, and Next Level Chef on May 11. Fox on Wednesday revealed summer premiere dates for shows including Crime Scene Kitchen, Beat Shazam, Don’t Forget The Lyrics, Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars and MasterChef.

Dates for So You Think You Can Dance and Domino Masters are among the titles yet to be announced.

Joel McHale returns for a special two-hour season premiere of the baking competition series Crime Scene Kitchen on Monday, May 22 (8-10 p.m. Et/Pt). The following week, on May 29, it will air in its regular time slot at 9 p.m. Et/Pt. Crime Scene Kitchen follows bakers as they taste test various desserts and attempt to decode what they’re tasting to re-create the recipe for celebrity judges chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp. Stone and Gampp then decide who made the tastiest treat that was most similar to the original.

Crime Scene Kitchen is produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment and Fly on the Wall Entertainment.

Fox has cooked up a summertime slate that features three shows targeting foodies and wannabe chefs, with a heaping side dish of musical content.

A new reality show that isn't all that well known is Hotties, which blends together two popular concepts. It takes the idea of eating foods that has made Hot Ones so famous and mixes it with blind dates, which has always been the rage in the genre.

Fox premiered Crime Scene Kitchen, a new reality baking competition, in May 2021, and now fans are excited about the renewal of another season. The series follows bakers who have to decode the type of dessert prepared in a kitchen using only crumbs, flour trails, and some clues. Viewers were delighted by the investigative nature of the competition and were trying to figure out if there would be more.

With these clues, the bakers need to recreate the desserts that were made there. Each episode has two rounds, the dessert round and the showpiece round. The team that gets closest to identifying the correct dessert in the first round is awarded an extra clue in the showpiece round. Anyone who guesses the right dessert in the showpiece round is then safe from elimination. The bakers who guessed incorrectly are judged by taste, and whoever performed the worst is sent home. Fox has ordered a second season of Crime Scene Kitchen, a baking competition series hosted by Joel McHale.

The show is a culinary guessing game in which bakers must decode what type of dessert was made, when all that’s left are the crumbs, flour trails and a few clues. They must then recreate the recipe for the judges, who will determine how closely it matches the missing dessert.

The show featured Chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp as judges.

“Crime Scene Kitchen is unlike any cooking show out there,” said Fox’s Head of Reality Rob Wade before the show’s debut last May. “It’s a truly original format with amazing baking creations, a brilliant play-along guessing game for the whole family, and Joel at the center of it all bringing hilarity at every turn.
