Proof the Sharks Don’t Know Everything: Disastrous Shark Tank Pitch That Kevin O’Leary Called ‘Vinegar Roaches’ Was Just Bought by Pepsi For $1.7B
Image
Sometimes, even the sharpest minds miss out on a perfect opportunity. The same happened on Shark Tank when the judges rejected a company that later sold for billions. Not only that, but Kevin O’Leary, famous for his sharp comments, used some harsh words against it. The company in question is Poppi, which was recently acquired by Pepsi for a massive $1.7 billion.

When Poppi first appeared on Shark Tank, the judges didn’t see its potential. But years later, it has grown into a huge success story, proving that even the smartest business minds can sometimes be wrong.

How did a rejected Shark Tank pitch turn into a $1.7 billion Pepsi Deal?

For more than a decade, Shark Tank has witnessed countless pitches on its stage. While some immediately captured the attention of the five venture capitalists, others failed to showcase their true potential.

A Poll On Reddit Suggests Barbara Corcoran Got Surpassed As The Most Unpopular Shark
Image
Shark Tank is a long-running reality TV series that allows budding entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to famous investors in hopes that at least one of them will take an interest in their proposal. The best case scenario is that one of the sharks offers to invest in their business in exchange for a stake - the worst case scenario is that the hopeful individual goes home empty-handed.

The show - and subsequently the sharks - have grown notorious over the years for how harsh it can really be. Now that many of the judges are household names for viewers across the country, a new poll shows that Daymond John holds the title among fans as the least popular.

Richard Branson Has A Thing With Throwing Water At Famous TV Hosts
Image
Richard Branson's water-throwing antics began with Stephen Colbert, not Mark Cuban. Branson's behavior on talk shows became explosive, including a fire extinguisher incident. Interviews with Branson on talk shows may still be nerve-wracking for hosts like Colbert.

Throughout Shark Tank history, the show has made people who've pitched rich and deals have crashed and burned. Still, Shark Tank's most memorable moments include when the sharks got angry, like when Richard Branson threw water on Mark Cuban.

Similarly, Stephen Colbert has had some bad interviews, even though he has been successful enough to get very rich. Still, it is amazing to learn that Richard actually threw water at Stephen before he did the same thing on Shark Tank.

Richard Branson Threw Water On Stephen Colbert Long Before He Did It To Mark Cuban

According to Forbes, Richard Branson had an estimated net worth of $2.6 billion as of August 2024. For many years,...

'Shark Tank' Sharks Broke Show Rules To Secure A Deal When The Contestants Walked Away
Image
The sharks on Shark Tank broke the rules to make a deal with Knife Aid, showing their passion and determination. Even though Knife Aid faced challenges after the show, it enjoyed financial success and garnered a large following. The bidding war over Knife Aid led to a lucrative deal, with the owners negotiating and ultimately sealing a $500,000 investment.

Unfortunately for the people involved in Shark Tank, the show can be scandalous. After all, a huge deal crashed and burned, Kevin O'Leary lost it on a disrespectful pitcher, and Mark Cuban enjoys calling some pitches scams.

Despite all that, going on Shark Tank is a huge opportunity, as evidenced by how rich the most successful person to pitch became. Part of the reason for that is that the sharks can be so passionate about a deal that they even broke the rules to make one.

Grace and Frankie Season 6 Trailer: Welcome to Shark Tank!
Grace and Frankie are leaving no stone unturned in the penultimate season of the Netflix comedy series.

The official trailer for Grace and Frankie Season 6 shows Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin's characters pitching a brand new invention on the beloved ABC series, Shark Tank.

Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, and Rohan Oza listen to their pitch, which is for a contraption that helps lift senior citizens off the bowl.

They are one of the most dynamic duos on TV, and it sounds like their invention may well be a hit with their target audience.

But this wouldn't be Grace and Frankie without some family drama, and that is on full display when Frankie drops the bombshell that Grace has married Nick.

While Grace may be blissfully unaware of his true nature, it seems everyone is on to Nick. Heck, the trailer strongly suggests Grace is just one of Nick's three brides.
