- Co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the band Alice in Chains since 2006.
- His first album with Alice in Chains, "Black Gives Way to Blue", finished recording on March 18, 2009, the same day that his son was born and also the birthday of the band's guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell.
- Despite joining Alice in Chains as a lead vocalist to sing Layne Staley's parts at concerts, DuVall is the lead singer of only three songs in the band's last two albums: "Last of My Kind" from 2009's 'Black Gives Way to Blue', and "Hung on a Hook" and "Phantom Limb" from 2013's 'The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here'. Jerry Cantrell became the main vocalist, and DuVall does backing vocals and harmonizes with him in the other songs.
