Kris is a singer/songwriter from Temple Hills, Maryland. She has penned songs for artists such as Shakira, Pitbull, Fergie, Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez, LeToya Luckett and Keyshia Cole. As an artist, her vocals have been featured on tracks alongside T.I., Kendrick Lamar, B.o.B, Cyhi The Prince, Tank and more. She is currently working on her debut album. Stephens began writing poetry when she was nine, singing solos in church and school. She attended Towson University, where she studied business management and chemistry.
Stephens moved to Atlanta as a solo artist with her producer/manager Eric Parham overseeing her project. After meeting several other talented girls in the city, Stephens was offered to join a girl group, which she tried for several months. After realizing it wasn't best for her future, R&B singer Tank took notice and became executive producer of her project. The two formed a long-term writing partnership, and traveled around the world creating music. Tank featured her on his song "Compliments" along with rapper T.I., and on set for the music video, Stephens built a rapport with T.I. He heard her music and loved her artist image, then decided to go into business with Tank on her behalf.
In 2013, Stephens was featured on T.I.'s single "Memories Back Then", which also featured B.o.B and Kendrick Lamar. That same year, she released a cover of Aaliyah's "One in a Million" and signed a major publishing deal with Primary Wave Music through super producer RoccStar.
Kris Stephens is said to finally release her debut EP in 2020.
The Grammy Nominated singer, songwriter/producer is recording and writing her 2020 EP which is based on her personal love life, experiences, and pain. Stephens has also been behind the scenes working on music, film writing, creative projects, as well as creatively directing her own debut album. As an entrepreneur, Stephens is planning to launch two of her businesses this year (2020) and preparing for her album release. -
