Steve Rice(XXI)
- Art Department
Born in Bethlehem, PA he grew up in a small rural town named Point Philip. Steve was raised by his biological father's Parents from age 2 and was legally adopted by them by age 12.
His passion for art came at an early age and he honed it through his years culminating in his studies in Commercial Art in Bethlehem Vocational-Technical School which helped teach him the actual job of being a professional artist by focusing on small jobs instead of homework or class projects.
Other than art he has a passion for music (having played guitar since he was 9 years old), and filmmaking as well. When he was 17 he joined a small film group known as "The Duck Club" with Fran Friel and Christopher Deppe that would get together once a week to make short films and practice the art of film making.
Several of these films can be seen on YouTube to this day.
After his adopted parent's deaths in late 2001 early 2002, he lived out of his car for quite a long time before eventually settling in Allentown Pennsylvania, living with his Punk band "Defiant Trespass" for a year before finally striking out on his own and being management in a call center for a major wireless company.
In 2012, after having a degree in art since graduating in 1999, he decided it was time to pursue a career in art. After a while of floundering around trying to find work Steve gained the attention of the art world after doing a tribute painting of Wes Craven, and making friends with several genre artists and filmmakers which led to him doing a concept poster for the unproduced film "Chopping Cart" by Jolly Dreams Productions.
As of 2019, he is a single dad raising his son in Colorado Springs, CO. and working on art for all levels of film.
