Squiz Media, well known for setting the benchmark in Australia for short-form news content, proudly unveils its latest initiative, News Club. It is set to redefine the way Australians engage with news following its launch on 13 February.
Unlike the daily news offerings The Squiz Today, News Club will be “the place to go for conversations about the news weekly”. Hosted by Squiz founder Claire Kimball and Squiz Today co-creator/Commercial Director Kate Watson, there will be a focus on a single news topic each week across podcast, newsletter and social media, placing the audience at the heart of the experience each week.
News Club starts off each week with a newsletter and social media posts, giving the audience the opportunity to ask questions about specific topics, followed by a curation of essential information from across a range of credible sources. We invite our audience to shape and actively participate in the conversation.

Bridge of the Doomed certainly can’t be accused of being a slow burn. Within the first few minutes, an army base comes under attack, and a group of civilians is overrun and eaten by zombies. And there’s no hesitation to put the bloody results on the screen. This is the zombie apocalypse 80s style, except it isn’t badly dubbed into English.
After the opening attack, General Vasquez sends a squad led by Lt Whitmore and Sgt. Hernandez to hold a bridge or destroy it in necessary, while they wait for reinforcements to arrive. Getting those reinforcements falls to the ominously named Colonel Charon.
Back at the bridge Privates Lin and Sanders save a woman named Susan from being raped...

“Call It!,” an app that empowers the U.K. film and TV workforce to call bad behavior out, has entered into a partnership with ITV Studios.
The app enables the workforce to record incidents of bullying, harassment and discrimination quickly and anonymously, without fear of reprisal or repercussion. It also provides easy access to employers’ ‘Dignity at Work’ policies and procedures for formal reporting, and signposting to third party support and resources. It also allows companies and productions to monitor the safety and wellbeing of their staff by asking, ‘How were you treated at work today?’ and gathering anonymous data regarding experiences of bullying and harassment.
After a pilot and proof of concept phase, the app launched to the film and TV market earlier this month. ITV Studios are the first major partner to sign up and will begin introducing the app to its U.K. companies.

Bridge of the Doomed is an upcoming zombie feature. From the minds of director Michael Su (Bus Party to Hell), writer Adrian Milens (Bloodthirst) and executive producer Mem Ferda (The Devil's Double), this feature is currently in post-production and will be finished soon. In the story, a squad of soldiers must hold a bridge as a zombie outbreak takes place. But, there is something beneath the bridge which is much more terrifying than the undead hordes! A trailer was released for this feature earlier this year. Now, the film's first poster is available, here. The graphic shows some of the characters from the film. Actor Robert Lasardo (The Mule) stars as General Vasquez, while Michael Pare plays Colonel Charon. Kate Watson is also shown as Hernandez. All of these characters are shown in a zombie filled poster. Full of thrills, Bridge of the Doomed promises to bring something more action filled to the screens,...

Check it out below!
Tvf: I watched your movie, Her Deadly Groom, which was so much fun. I love Lifetime movies because they have a great way of keeping you on the edge of your seat.
Michael: Good. Cool! I'm glad you liked it.
How does it feel to star in a movie that serves as a cautionary tale against online dating?

The Asylum return to the disaster movie well with Collision Earth, yet another “Earth’s in trouble and only science can save us” film. This one comes from first-time director Matthew Boda, a lighting technician (who worked on the likes of Californication and The Colony) turned filmmaker who’s made numerous shorts prior to this but this movie marks his feature debut. However Boda is not the only newcomer behind the scenes of Collision Earth as actor and comedian Joe Roche – who appeared in The Asylum’s Aladdin mockbuster, Adventures of Aladdin last year And plays one of the military crew monitoring the meteor shower here – pens the script for a film that follows just about every cliche and stereotype in the book.

Yay! It’s another mockbuster from The Asylum. Yes, those fine purveyors of shark-schlock have returned to their mockbuster roots with The Tomb: Heart of the Dragon, a low-budget “homage” to the Tomb Raider series, another example of The Asylum’s savvy marketing methinks – originally timed to debut a mere week Before the release of the Alicia Vikander starring blockbuster reboot of the film franchise but not released in the UK, direct to DVD, until this week!
For those unaware, I am a huge fan of The Asylum’s output and I’m not just talking Sharknado and it’s sequels or the myriad of other killer-fish flicks they’ve produced. Films like Avengers Grimm, Abraham Lincoln...
