“The Masked Singer” will look a little different for Season 11. The wacky reality TV singing competition that showcases secret celebrities performing in elaborate costumes will have a new panelist at the detectives’ table. Fox has announced singer Rita Ora will replace Nicole Scherzinger, who served as a panelist alongside Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg and Ken Jeong for the first 10 seasons. They will all return with host Nick Cannon when Season 11 premieres March 6, 2024 on Fox.
“We’re grateful to have the amazing @ritaora shine her light and join us as a panelist on #TheMaskedSinger Season 11!” the show shared on Instagram. The 32-year old pop star shared on her own Instagram Story, “So happy the secret is finally out. I’m joining the @maskedsingerfox US! Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin shocked the world on January 2, 2023 when he suffered cardiac arrest after making a tackle live on “Monday Night Football.” The game was postponed as he was rushed to the hospital, and he slowly recovered for a week until he was ultimately released on January 9. During the “Sesame Street”-themed March 15 episode of “The Masked Singer,” an energetic Hamlin appeared with his kid brother Damir to give everyone a health update (and reveal a clue for the Squirrel).
“The man that brought the whole world together and inspired us all,” declared “Tms” host Nick Cannon as he introduced the Buffalo Bills safety to the audience.

Sports fanatic Ken Jeong could barely contain his composure as he laid eyes on the fully recovered football star. “I’m just so glad you’re here,” the panelist readily admitted while fighting back tears.

“I never get anything right! I got one!” a dumbfounded Ken Jeong exclaimed at the end of Wednesday’s second episode of “The Masked Singer” Season 9. Magic struck when the notoriously bad guesser correctly named Howie Mandel as the secret celebrity hiding inside the Rock Lobster costume. Ken was the only panelist who got it right; Jennifer McCarthy Wahlberg and Nicole Scherzinger both went with Martin Short, while Robin Thicke picked Steve-o.
Ken chose Howie because of two clues in particular: the judge’s gavel (referring to his recurring stint on “America’s Got Talent”) and the hospital scrubs (a reference to his role on “St. Elsewhere”). “This is someone who is a legendary comedian — someone who is one of my influences,” Ken stated emphatically after the red crustacean screeched out “S.O.S.” by Abba while running around the stage as if he was being boiled.

A huge part of the appeal of “The Masked Singer” is trying to figure out which famous faces are hidden beneath those masks. Season 6 of this reality competition series promises to be the toughest to date with a whopping 17 celebrities hidden inside 16 costumes. Because there are so many stars in the hunt for the Golden Mask, Fox had to divide the season 6 premiere into two parts. The first aired on September 22 in the usual Wednesday night time slot for “The Masked Singer.”
The first five contestants, who are part of Group A, performed for the four judges as the Bull, Mother Nature, Octopus, Pufferfish and Skunk. “The Masked Singer” ended its fourth season tonight with the crowning of a new winner of the show’s Golden Mask trophy — and the first winner of its Golden Ear trophy.
As viewers who have been keeping up with the show already know, “The Masked Singer” introduced the Golden Ear trophy at the start of Season 4, with host Nick Cannon explaining that one panelist — either Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger or Robin Thicke — would win the prize at the end of the season based on who had the most correct “first impression” guesses by the finale.
On Wednesday’s two-hour season closer, we learned that McCarthy had won the coveted prize — well, less coveted than the Golden Mask trophy, but pretty important to the judges competing for it. The overall competition was won by Sun, who...

Saddle up! The Seahorse could be swimming all the way to the winner’s circle on Season 4 of “The Masked Singer.” The whimsical fish has proven she has the voice to win it all after securing her spot in the Super Six by winning the Group B finals on the Fox reality TV singing competition. After belting out three performances to date, the Seahorse advanced to the Super Six as the top vote-getter on Episode 8 and is now considered one of the favorites to win the Golden Mask trophy.
The Seahorse made a big splash when she debuted on Episode 2 singing “Only Girl (In the World)” by pop superstar Rihanna. She commanded the stage with sex appeal and vocal gymnastics, prompting panelist Nicole Scherzinger to predict, “We might be looking at the winner of Season 4 right now.” In Episode 4 she slowed things down with a powerhouse rendition of “My Heart...

Can the crooning Crocodile come from behind and eat up the competition on his way to the coveted Golden Mask trophy on “The Masked Singer”? After the Seahorse swam past him on her way to the Super Six by earning the most votes in the Group B finals, the bedazzled amphibian advanced along with her by placing second. Now the Crocodile is within striking distance of a Season 4 victory.
The Crocodile first crawled onto the stage in Episode 2, singing “It’s My Life” by the rock group Bon Jovi. His natural stage presence and familiar, raspy vocals led the panelists to believe the cold-blooded singer was from a boy band. In Episode 4 the Crocodile proved he was an all-around entertainer when he busted out some serious dance moves to Britney Spears‘ hit “Toxic.” He slowed things down for the Group B finals, showing a more vulnerable side as he belted out “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis,...

You may not be able to gather together with family and friends this Thanksgiving, but look on the bright side: Your Masked Singer friends will be there for you — on a different night — to ease the sting of this atypical holiday. And hey, they’re already masked!
This week’s episode saw the season’s first double elimination. At the end of the hour, both Serpent and Whatchamcallit were asked to go home. And when they were unmasked, the big snake was revealed to be singing spinal surgeon Dr. Elvis Francois, while the big… shag carpet? was revealed to be NBA star Lonzo Ball.

During “The Masked Singer’s” Group B finals, Nicole Scherzinger was the only panelist to correctly guess Dr. Elvis Francois was hiding inside the Serpent costume. So how’d she know his secret identity? As it turns out, Nicole recently sang a virtual rendition of “Rise Up” with Dr. Elvis on the post-show program “After the Mask” (watch above). When the Serpent hissed that he’d performed a duet with one of the panelists before, Nicole immediately realized the clue was about her and so she correctly named the doctor as her final guess.

Emotions ran high on Wednesday night’s episode of “The Masked Singer” when the Serpent was unmasked and revealed to be viral singing sensation and orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Elvis Francois. Typically jovial panelist Ken Jeong burst into tears, stating, “Your version of ‘Imagine’ got us through the pandemic. That living room concert you did on Fox, in a concert of stars like Elton John, Billy Joe Armstrong, everybody. The best moment of that living room concert was you. You just got us through a very difficult time and we love you so much.”

The elimination of Whatchamacallit on Wednesday night’s Group B finals of “The Masked Singer” was the most shocking of Season 4, but not because the hairy beast was expected to advance. Minds were blown because consistently off-base panelist Ken Jeong was the only one who correctly guessed NBA star Lonzo Ball was hiding beneath the mask. “Oh my God, I love you!” Ken screamed in disbelief while standing on top of his chair. Somehow, this season of The Masked Singer is already winding down. Two singers went home tonight as Group B returned for one last battle and only two Group B singers get to head to the Super Six—Seahorse and Crocodile. Serpent and Whatchamacallit were sent home tonight, and we certainly had not guessed who they were even if some of the panelists managed it. Whatchamacallit was the first to take off his mask, and Ken Jeong has never been so exuberant. For once, he was right on the money with his guess of rapper and athlete Lonzo Ball. The Serpent was a bit more surprising, since many people have assumed all season that he was a Hamilton cast member or someone of that sort...

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer.”)
“The Masked Singer” is whittling down its Season 4 contestants, dropping two more with a double elimination at the end of tonight’s Group B finals.
The hour saw Serpent, Whatchamacallit, Crocodile and Seahorse perform once more, all competing for a shot to join the “Super Six” bracket that will bring together contestants from Groups A, B and C.
After those four hidden celebs performed, it was time for panelists Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke — as well as guest judge Cheryl Hines and “The Masked Singer” super fans voting from home — to pick their favorite singers to stay. They chose Seahorse and Crocodile, which meant Serpent and Whatchamacallit were deemed the weakest performers and unmasked.

Anthony Davis isn’t buying in to the notion that he’s a long-term pillar for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Davis, who is signed with the basketball team only through this year, told the Chicago Tribune in an interview Saturday that he’d be interested in exploring something with the city’s Bulls team.
“I mean, (this is) definitely hometown,” Davis said. “If the opportunity ever presents itself and when that time comes, I’d definitely consider it.”

ESPN generated its highest-rated NBA Summer League game ever across networks on Friday night, according to Nielsen.
The telecast featuring former Duke stars Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans vs. R.J. Barrett and the New York Knicks drew a record 1.2 metered market rating on ESPN, up 33 percent from the previous record set in 2017 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, which was Lonzo Ball’s expected debut.
The stats are even more remarkable in that the game was cut short because of an earthquake, and Williamson was injured in the first half.
Elsewhere, NBC again topped the night among the networks, with Dateline and a strong lead-in from American Ninja Warrior boosting the peacock network.
NBC was #1 among adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and all other key demographics (including a tie in women 18-34) with Dateline garnering an 0.5/3 and 3.11 million audience, down a tick from last week but...

Lavar Ball had ominous words for the Los Angeles Lakers following the news that the team had traded his son, Lonzo, to the New Orleans Pelicans: no more rings.

The Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly agreed to a deal that would see the Lakers get top five player Anthony Davis to team with LeBron James.
In return, the Lakers will send Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round draft picks, including this year’s No. 4 selection in next week’s draft, to New Orleans.
The Lakers have been pursuing Davis for some time, and obtaining him is a major coup for the franchise. It’s also significant that they kept rising forward Kyle Kuzma out of the deal, leaving them with a stalwart outside shooter that may thrive even more in the inside-outside game the Lakers can now deploy.
New Orleans was asking a steep price for Davis, who can become a free agent after this season, but was said to covet Los Angeles. They can now team the Lakers players with anticipated No.
