X-men: Working Title For Marvel Studios' Upcoming Reboot Revealed; [Spoiler] Has "Big" Avengers: Doomsday Role
Image
The X-Men reboot has a writer and a director, and perhaps even the beginnings of a cast.

While Marvel Studios seemingly has plans for this movie to be what the next Saga of storytelling is built around—we have to believe it will be dubbed the "Mutant Saga"—the original big screen X-Men will take centre stage in Avengers: Doomsday next summer.

Still, as production starts ramping up, the neXt X-Men movie has been given a working title. As a reminder, these are used during production and sometimes mean very little, but occasionally offer some insights into the story or comic book inspiration for a superhero movie.

According to The Cosmic Circus, in the case of X-Men, the working title is "Chunnel."

That may sound like gibberish, but Chunnel is often used to refer to the Channel Tunnel, an undersea railway tunnel that connects England to France. It's only been...

The Working Title for Marvel Studios’ Upcoming X-Men Reboot Reportedly Revealed
Image
With the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, the X-Men and mutants are finally being integrated into the MCU in a meaningful way. While mutants have appeared in previous projects and Professor X and Beast featured in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels, the X-Men were not properly referenced.

However, as Kevin Feige has confirmed, the era of mutants has officially begun, with a live-action X-Men reboot on the way that will focus solely on the iconic team.

Michael Lesslie has been hired to write the script for the new X-Men movie, and reports suggest he proposed an ‘X-Men ’97’ lineup.

Rumor: X-men Reboot's Leads Revealed; Colman Domingo Eyed For Professor X, Daisy Edgar Jones For Jean Grey
Image
The trades recently revealed that Thunderbolts*/*The New Avengers director Jake Schreier is set to direct Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot. Casting rumours have been swirling for several months, though, suggesting he'll have a limited role in deciding who plays the McU's mutants.

That's par for the course for any filmmaker who works on these movies, and two more big names have been added to the mix today.

Talking on The Hot Mic podcast, Jeff Sneider said he's heard that, similar to Vanessa Kirby in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Marvel Studios is building the X-Men cast around Charles Xavier/Professor X, Scott Summers/Cyclops, and Jean Grey/Marvel Girl.

Sneider no longer believes Harris Dickinson will play Cyclops, but following rumblings that Denzel Washington is being eyed for Magneto, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man star Colman Domingo is reportedly in contention for Professor X.

He's also learned that Twisters and Fresh...

X-Men Unveils Its New Design for a Founding Member, Inspired by Wolverine
Image
As Marvel continues its vicious reinvention of X-Men lore, Wolverine is going up against a founding member of the iconic mutant team. But while this particular mutant isn't traditionally a match for Logan, a new redesign just made them blood-soaked equals.

In new solicit information for Ultimate Wolverine #8, Marvel has revealed that the Ultimate Universe's Logan will go up against Angel. However, this isn't the same angelic playboy who helped found the X-Men - this is a twisted reimagining who has been turned into a living weapon by Directorate X.

Ultimate Wolverine is set in Marvel's new Ultimate Universe, where the timeline has been warped to corrupt or destroy Marvel's most iconic heroes, including (and seemingly especially) the X-Men.

Avengers: Doomsday Set Leak Seemingly Reveals The X-Mansion And A Sentinel
Image
Behind the scenes secrets and sights continue to stumble out of the "Avengers: Doomsday" set, and the latest batch reveals an iconic threat to the world of mutantkind and the X-Men, seemingly providing our first blurry look at a Sentinel -- or at least parts of one. Thanks to photos and video footage of the set posted on X by UnBoxPHDFilm and booletproof_dummy via Unc | DC Marvel, the legendary mutant-hunting robot looks to have taken a beating, with the Sentinel's torso and feet on full display, lying down on set. Well, that's what happens when a 20-foot robot ends up at the door of a very famous school looking for trouble.

According to social media posts, the scattered statues and lush greenery look to be part of the X-Mansion grounds, suggesting that whenever we meet the X-Men in the upcoming MCU installment, they'll square off with the...

Cyclops and Wolverine Just Combined to Create X-Men's Strongest Hero
Image
While Wolverine and Cyclops are two of X-Men's most iconic heroes, they're not usually seen as the team's powerhouses. However, that just changed, as a group of mutants merge together to become X-Men's strongest hero, with an arsenal of god-tier mutant powers. It's the ultimate fusion of mutant abilities, drawing on existing Marvel lore in a smart new way.

The transformation happens in Godzilla vs X-Men #1 by Fabian Nicieza, Emilio Laiso, Federico Blee and Clayton Cowles. In the comic, the X-Men are contacted by the government for their help repelling an attack by the King of Monsters. Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Beast and Storm spring into action, with Gambit carrying out a heist to retrieve an old Super-Adaptoid robot. Xavier then creates a telepathic mind-link, allowing the heroes to combine their powers in a single, gigantic form.

The Super-Adaptoid is a longtime Avengers enemy which can replicate the powers of superhumans in its vicinity.

Robert Downey Jr. Teases MCU Return in 'Avengers: Doomsday' Set Image
Image
Academy Award winner and Hollywood icon Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday. But he won’t be playing Tony Stark. Instead, Downey Jr. will debut as the iconic Marvel supervillain Doctor Doom, with the actor having now teased his MCU comeback in a new image from the set of the Avengers sequel.

Pictured on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, the image shows Robert Downey Jr. sporting the muscles needed to fill out that green cloak and take on the likes of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, The Fantastic Four, The New Avengers, and The X-Men single-handed. The actor has also had some black dots drawn on his face, which can only mean that some CGI trickery is afoot.

In the image, Downey Jr. is also shown drawing strength from fellow MCU star Jeremy Renner’s new book, “My Next Breath: A Memoir,...

Marvel fans get the X-Men announcement they've been waiting for
Image
For years, all Marvel fans have wanted to see is the X-Men join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That time is almost upon us, as the franchise's Multiverse Saga has opened the door for the Mighty Mutants to make their debut in the MCU, with a movie and some rumored spinoffs potentially on the horizon. Oh yes, it's really quite an exciting time to be an X-Men fan!

The MCU began referencing mutants earlier on in the Multiverse Saga, but the very existence of the multiverse itself allowed for it to pull in previous versions of these iconic characters to bridge the gap until the franchise's own versions made their debut. With that, we have seen the return of Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for a cameo appearance and the game-changing debut of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in Deadpool and Wolverine, officially...

Jake Schreier in Early Talks to Direct ‘X-Men’ Movie for Marvel Studios
Image
An “X-Men” movie at Marvel Studios looks to finally be picking up steam, and Jake Schreier, the director of one of the best-reviewed MCU movies in years “Thunderbolts*,” is in early talks to direct the film, IndieWire has confirmed.

Michael Lesslie, who wrote “The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” wrote the script for the still-untitled “X-Men” movie. Kevin Feige, per usual, is producing.

Marvel declined to comment.

Since acquiring Fox back in 2017, Marvel has been building slowly towards bringing the X-Men back into the fold of the MCU. They’ve teased mutants in “Ms. Marvel,” and they had a post-credits sequence that teased the “X-Men” at the end of “The Marvels.” After bringing Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine for “Deadpool & Wolverine” last year, Marvel recently announced that the new “Avengers: Doomsday” film would include many of the stars from the original series of “X-Men” films that began...

Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Olga Kurylenko, Sebastian Stan, Hannah John-Kamen, and Florence Pugh in Thunderbolts* (2025)
According to Deadline, Marvel Studios is in early talks with Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier to helm the upcoming X-Men movie. Nothing is official now, but insiders say Schreier is looking like the top choice after a successful meeting last week. Michael Lesslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) wrote the script for the X-Men movie, with Kevin Feige producing.

Since Disney officially acquired 20th Century Fox more than five years ago, Marvel fans have been eager for the inevitable day when the X-Men will finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The franchise took small steps, with a few mentions of mutants, but it slowly led to appearances from Patrick Stewart as Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Kelsey Grammer as Beast in The Marvels, and, of course, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as the titular characters of Deadpool & Wolverine.

‘Thunderbolts*’ Director Jake Schreier in Early Talks to Direct ‘X-Men’ for Marvel Studios
Image
“The New Avengers” director Jake Schreier is in early talks to direct “X-Men,” Marvel Studios introduction of the mutant superhero team in the MCU.

“Hunger Games” writer Michael Lesslie wrote the screenplay.

The “X-Men” film franchise began in 2000 with “X-Men,” directed by Bryan Singer. This first film introduced audiences to the concept of mutants – humans born with genetic superpowers – and focused on the leader of the X-Men, Professor Charles Xavier, and the metal-clawed Logan/Wolverine, as they attempt to make peace with their rival Magneto. It was praised for its serious, character-driven take on the superhero genre.

Its sequel, “X2” (2003), built on the foundation of the first film, allowing for more mutant heroes and villains to appear while exploring Wolverine’s mysterious past. “X2” was an even bigger critical and commercial success, further establishing the “X-Men” as a powerful superhero franchise able to stand alongside the likes of Superman and Batman.

X-Men Star Spoils Which MCU Character Nightcrawler Will Battle in Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Though Avengers: Doomsday promises many battles, especially against the villainous Doctor Doom, a star of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster spoils that one of those fights will be between heroes. X-Men franchise actor Alan Cumming reveals who Nightcrawler will face off with in the Avengers sequel, and it could be a fantastic duel, pun intended.

Speaking with Buzzfeed UK, Cumming shared that Nightcrawler will go head-to-head with Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in Doomsday. When the British actor delved into his fight scenes as Nightcrawler throughout the X-Men franchise and addressed his role in the Avengers follow-up, he let slip that his character and The Fantastic Four's leader would come to blows. “I'm sort of learning these fights and I'm like, ‘What, who am I fighting with?’ [They’re like,] ‘You're hitting Pedro Pascal against the head,’” he said.

Cumming's revelation seemingly points toDoomsday's heroes not entirely being on...

Alan Cummingis spilling the beans on a fight that could happen during Avengers: Doomsday. During a recent interview with Buzzfeed UK, the X-Men actor pulled the curtain on the work he has done for the upcoming Marvel crossover. It turns out that Nightcrawler will potentially fight against Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal). The Cabaret star directly mentioned Pedro Pascal when talking about the fight sequences he has already rehearsed for the production of Avengers: Doomsday. This interaction is one of the first clues viewers have received regarding the premise of the sequel:

"I'm playing Nightcrawler again now. I'm working, learning stunts yesterday for a fight scene. And I just think: I'm sixty years old! Twenty-three years ago, I played that superhero. I was kind of old for a superhero even then. And now, I'm back doing it. That to me, is hilarious. I'm learning these fights. I say: "Who am I fighting with?...

Marvel Rivals Emma Frost Emote Goes Ultra-Viral
Image
Looks like Marvel Rivals players are going to have the time of their lives again (gooners lining up as well as it’s Emma again). What’s the hype about? Well, Emma Frost got a new emote that gives her one of the strongest items known in the Marvel universe. Yes, it’s the Cerebro, which is usually used by Professor Charles Xavier.

But this isn’t the first time Emma Frost has wielded it, as she has done so before in the comics. But why are fans making it a big deal? It’s mostly because Cerebro is famous in the X-Men fanbase. But the people who are going crazy for it are Emma Frost fans.

It almost seems, if Emma just stands still for a millisecond, the fanbase is sure to erupt. Jokes aside, if you’re an Emma Frost main and die-hard X-Men fan, this emote will blow you away.

Ryan Reynolds at an event for Deadpool 2 (2018)
Deadpool & Wolverine has been Marvel’s biggest hit in recent years, so it’s no surprise the studio is eager to bring those characters back. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Reynolds is actively developing ideas for a new Deadpool movie that would feature several X-Men characters.

The potential project would be an ensemble with three or four X-Men characters, but Deadpool may only be a supporting player in the movie. The report states that it’s still very early days and Reynolds hasn’t yet pitched it to the studio. The actor is known for going through a lot of concepts before he lands on one he likes. Deadpool & Wolverine went through many iterations before it became the billion-dollar blockbuster that revitalized the Marvel Cinematic Universe (at least temporarily).

Rumor: Are these the remaining Avengers: Doomsday cast members?
Vingadores: Destino (2026)
Last month, the Marvel Studios social media accounts started live-streaming a video they labeled as an all-caps Announcement. The video showed a soundstage where, one by one, chairs reserved for actors were revealed, with a new chair coming into view every 10 minutes or so. As it turns out, this was a very long and slow way of revealing (a large chunk of) the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, which is now in production and aiming for a May 1, 2026 theatrical release. The names of twenty-seven cast members were shown that day, with Marvel teasing, “There’s always room for more…” With cameras now rolling, we’ve been waiting to see if they’ll announce the rest of the cast list with more chair backs, or they’ll find a different way to do it. Marvel Preview: A Deadpool And Wolverine Villain Gets Her Own Team In X-Men #16 [Exclusive]
Image
A year in, the "From The Ashes" relaunch of the "X-Men" comics hasn't staved off accusations of movie synergy. After the wild Krakoa era of X-Men, "From The Ashes" has been closer to the '90s cartoon norm most expect from these mutants. The main "X-Men" title has also brought in a villain who just debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That would be Cassandra Nova, played in last year's "Deadpool & Wolverine" by Emma Corrin. Created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, Cassandra is — essentially — the evil twin sister of Professor Charles Xavier. Since her debut in 2001's "New X-Men" #114, Cassandra has been out to teach her brother and his students one lesson: "E is for Extinction."

Marvel has shared an exclusive preview for "X-Men" #16 with /Film, which follows Cassandra's latest scheme. She's now a leader of the organization 3K. From the Friends of Humanity to Orchis, the...

THR reports that Chris Hemsworth is set to star in Subversion for Amazon MGM Studios. Directed by Patrick Vollrath from a script by Andrew Ferguson, the project has been described as a “Die Hard on a submarine” style thriller. Personally, I’m still waiting for “Die Hard on an ice cream truck.”

Here's The Purported Reason Why Avengers: Doomsday Doesn't Have A Finalized Script
Image
Ever since the first Iron Man film back in 2008, it's nothing new for a Marvel Studios film to not have a finalized script or for things to radically change while on set.

As such, MCU fans shouldn't really be alarmed by reports that the current script for Avengers: Doomsday isn't finalized yet, despite the fact that the Russos having revealed that filming kicks off today.

But apparently, there's a very special reason why the script isn't finalized, according to recent reports.

It's because Marvel Studios hasn't signed all of the actors yet that it wants to appear in the film.

Yep. This is what @TheInSneider has been reporting for Weeks on The Hot Mic and in his newsletter.

The #AvengersDoomsday script ain't Done done because they haven't closed all the deals with all the people who'll be appearing in it.

An interesting way to make a movie... https://t.co/3JZaNIl27g pic.

'Avengers: Doomsday' Production Begins With BTS Doom Tease Courtesy of The Russo Brothers

MCU fans can start the week on a high, as the upcoming blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday, has now started filming in the United Kingdom. Not only that, but returning directors, Avengers: Endgame pair Joe and Anthony Russo, have now taken to social media to share the first official behind-the-scenes image from set, teasing the long-awaited arrival of Doctor Doom.

While the image doesn’t show off much, merely offering a look at the chair that Robert Downey Jr. will sit in on set as he makes his triumphant (and somewhat confusing) return to the MCU as new villain Victor Von Doom, the confirmation that Avengers: Doomsday filming has now begun should be more than enough to have MCU fans excited.

It's also possible that the image shows off more than we think. One of the prevailing fan theories about Downey Jr.’s comeback is that he will be playing an alternate Tony Stark.

Marvel Studios Confirms 18 Major X-Men Returning In 2026
Image
Fans will see many X-Men characters in 2026 with the release of X-Men '97 Season 2 and Avengers: Doomsday, with some appearing in both projects.

For the past few years, the MCU has slowly integrated members of the X-Men and mutants in general into the franchise. The biggest instances include Charles Xavier appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine being a main character in Deadpool & Wolverine.

After Season 1 of Disney+'s animated X-Men '97 series was a hit, the show was confirmed to be returning for a second season, meaning that some X-Men members would be coming back into the fold in the future. However, some actors who have been in X-Men films were also announced to be in Avengers: Doomsday.

5 ways Hayley Atwell could return in Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Our favorite 1940s wartime British agent is back to dance and fight Doombots. And she’s all out of dance partners.

As reported in a Deadline exclusive, Hayley Atwell is set to reprise her role as Peggy Carter in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Unfortunately, she wasn’t announced by a chair, which is rude. Thanks, X-Men. I’m blaming you.

Atwell’s portrayal as the beloved Carter first crossed audiences' paths in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, where she served as a British liaison to the United States Armed Forces during their battles with the Nazis. Introduced to a frail Steve Rogers, she witnessed his selflessness and bravery, even in the most dire of situations. Carter soon fell in love with Rogers, but lost him to an air vessel trapped in ice for over 70 years.

That wouldn’t be the end of her in the Marvel Cinematic...

X-men Origins: Wolverine Stars Hugh Jackman And Liev Schreiber Reunite In "Now And Then" BTS Photo
Image
Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber played the leads in the much-maligned X-Men Origins: Wolverine back in 2009, and fans have been hoping to see the actors reunite as Logan and Victor Creed/Sabertooth in the MCU.

Unfortunately, Schreiber is not likely to don the claws and fangs of Wolverine's nemesis again, but Jackman has now revealed that they will be working together again on two upcoming plays.

The Deadpool and Wolverine star shared the following "now and then" behind-the-scenes photo to social media.

Now and then! Amazing to be back in a rehearsal studio again with @LievSchreiber. While we are in two distinctly different plays, most are back to back. When @SFP_London and I set out to create Together Productions, we made a list of actors we hoped to work with. Liev answered… pic.twitter.com/LnQcPVaaud

Tom Hardy’s Acting is Not Why I Find Shinzon Gross and Disturbing in Star Trek: Nemesis
Image
Actor Tom Hardy is known for his dramatic transformations and powerful onscreen performances. As a result, the actor has enjoyed a long and enduring career, appearing in multiple hit movies. However, that wasn’t the case at the start of his career.

Hardy’s first major film role was in 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis, the fourth film in the franchise starring The Next Generation characters. In the film, Hardy played the role of the villainous Praetor Shinzon, a clone of Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard.

Despite Hardy’s admirable effort in his performance, the character remains one of the grossest additions to the Star Trek canon. Here is why I find Tom Hardy’s first major film role in Star Trek: Nemesis as Shinzon extremely gross and disturbing.

Tom Hardy arguably played the most disturbing role in...

The MCU’s Avengers: Doomsday reveal is a lesson in how not to market movies
Image
Metaphorical and physical ‘doom’ is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Robert Downey Jr. ditching his old Iron Man armor and taking on a very different role as Victor von Doom. While Doctor Doom was once known as a Fantastic Four villain, his many years of scheming against (and occasionally allying with) the Avengers makes him the perfect replacement for Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror.

Even though plans for what was supposed to be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty have had to be overhauled, there’s the altogether more exciting prospect of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars breaking records. Fans were promised that a March 26 reveal would top the much-hyped announcement that Rdj was coming back, but little did we know what we were getting ourselves in for. Was anyone expecting a five-and-a-half-hour livestream with just a single actor stopping by?

Rumor: Avengers: Doomsday Currently Filming Scenes At An Under-Attack X-Mansion
Image
Cameras are now rolling on Marvel Studios' next big event movie, Avengers: Doomsday, and a new report is claiming to reveal some intriguing details about the scenes currently being filmed.

According to scooper Mttsh, shooting is now underway at a practical set for the X-Mansion, aka the Xavier Institute. In the comics, this location is the private estate of Professor Charles Xavier and serves as the X-Men's base of operations and training site.

No photos from this set have been shared online (yet), but we have heard that the sequence being filmed shows the mansion "under attack."

The recent Doomsday cast announcement included members of the original X-Men line-up, Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn and James Marsden. Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Halle Berry (Storm) and Famke Janssen (Jean Grey) are also expected to appear, but have not been confirmed.

Though it was generally assumed that the returning cast...

The X-Men star we've all been waiting for is finally coming to the MCU, reports say
Image
The X-Men's arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a long time coming. The mighty mutants have been among the most popular characters in all of comic books and they transcended their own genre to do it all again in the movies when the X-Men film series took the world by storm in the 2000s and 2010s. And through it all, fans waited to see them make their debut in the MCU.

Since Marvel Studios kicked off its Multiverse Saga, we have gotten our first official references to them, with some even appearing before long. Patrick Stewart reprised his role as Professor Charles Xavier in a cameo appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness while Kelsey Grammer returned as Beast in The Marvels. The most significant X-return, however, was that of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in 2024's juggernaut summer film Deadpool and Wolverine.

We know that...

Tom Hiddleston Teases Loki’s Return In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’: “It’s Not Over Yet”
Image
Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise his role of Loki in Avengers: Doomsday in his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hiddleston was one of the many actors confirmed to return to the MCU and was recently asked about the film, which the Russo Brothers will direct.

“[I’m] very, very excited,” Hiddleston told ComicBook. “It’s really remarkable that I can talk about it because mostly I’m in a position of knowing and not being able to say anything … it’s been an extraordinary chapter of my life playing Loki, and it’s not over yet.”

Hiddleston has played the anti-hero across the MCU, starting with 2011’s Thor. He reprised the role in 2012’s The Avengers, 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

The actor’s last appearance in film as Loki was in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Alan Cumming Teases “Game Changer” In Makeup Process For Nightcrawler Return In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’: “It’s Going To Be Nuts”
Image
Alan Cumming is returning to the Marvel universe to reprise his Nightcrawler role in Avengers: Doomsday.

In a new interview, the Traitors U.S. host teased that the makeup process has changed since starring in 2003’s X2, making it easier to play the character.

“It’s 23 years since I was a superhero,” Cumming said recently during an interview on NBC’s Today with Jenna & Friends.

When Jenna Bush Hager asked Cumming if he was going to be wearing all that makeup again, the actor said, “I had some makeup tests already.”

“Actually, what’s great about it, it was four and a half to five hours before, and now it was 90 minutes,” he said, before explaining that “before all the tattoos were done by hand because they hadn’t decided on thm before we started filming and now there are all these little things that stick on — it’s a game changer.

One Of Marvel's Best Comic Book Movies Is Taking Over Max's Top Charts
Image
Warner Bros. Discovery is currently gearing up to unleash James Gunn's "Superman" and launch its brand-new DC Universe following an ignoble end to its previous one (commonly referred to as the DC Extended Universe). It's not a stretch to say that "Superman" has the power to save or destroy an iconic movie studio, which is why it's sort of funny to see a superhero movie from Marvel and Disney currently dominating Warner's streaming service.

Back in 2019, Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, giving the studio — which already owned Marvel Studios and the behemoth that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe — access to the Fox line of superhero movies, including the X-Men saga. Then, in 2021, Disney+ and HBO Max (as it was then known) reached a deal to allow 20th Century movies to stream on both platforms. The result? Well, there have been a lot of different outcomes, including the cameo-packed "Deadpool & Wolverine" in 2024. Today,...

Hugh Jackman Returns As Wolverine To Strike Iconic Pose In Marvel Studios "Breathing Excercise" Video
Image
Hugh Jackman has returned as Wolverine... for an 8 hour, 30 minute breathing exercise video.

Marvel released the video, which is titled "Wolverine Breathing Exercise | Marvel Ambiance | Deadpool & Wolverine," to its official YouTube channel in support of National Stress Awareness Month, and it's literally just eight plus hours of Jackman breathing menacingly - until he strikes an iconic pose around the halfway mark.

As Wolvie fans will no doubt be aware, Jackman is paying homage to Frank Miller's cover art for Chris Claremont's Wolverine #1 (1982).

There's been some speculation that this video could be setting up some kind of big announcement relating to Logan, but it seems unlikely. Jackman is expected to reprise the role for Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, but this is probably just an excuse to give some additional promotion to Deadpool and Wolverine, which is now streaming on Disney+.

Have a look at the video below,...

"It's Not Over Yet": Tom Hiddleston Teases Loki's Glorious Return in 'Avengers: Doomsday'
Image
Remember two weeks ago when the world fell into some sort of dystopian dream, and we were all joined together for one common cause — the chairs? We’re, of course, talking about Marvel’s casting reveal for its upcoming production, Avengers: Doomsday, a stunt in which a live stream panned from chair to chair revealing the names of the actors involved in the movie. Every 15 minutes or so over the course of several hours, those tuning in cheered on their favorite characters in what is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about publicity campaigns in recent years. While names like Channing Tatum as Gambit, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier undoubtedly had fans screaming and running in circles, the reveal that Tom Hiddleston would be returning as Loki also drove viewers into a frenzy.

When we last left off with the MCU’s most lovable troll,...

Marvel Veteran will reportedly return in Avengers: Doomsday amidst speculation
Image
Back in 2019, audiences witnessed the biggest crossover ever in the form of Avengers: Endgame. Earth's Mightiest Heroes assembled one last time to do the impossible and restore half of the life in the universe while putting Thanos's mad tyranny to an end. But for as exciting as it was to see the culmination of the first chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, very few could've guessed that the Avengers wouldn't come together until seven years later. Fortunately, it appears the wait will be worth it.

To say that excitement levels are through the roof about Marvel's next crossover would be an understatement. The cast announcement for the movie alone gathered over 275 million views, even if it was simply a five-hour livestream showcasing a few chairs with actors' names on them. Fans were eager to discover who would join the fight against Doctor Doom and, much to everyone's surprise, the...

'All I Was Guaranteed Was a Chair': Channing Tatum Hints That He May Not Play Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Deadpool & Wolverine actor Channing Tatum is set to continue his celebrated Marvel Cinematic Universe run in the highly-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. However, fans hoping to see Tatum reprise his fan-favorite role of Gambit in the upcoming Avengers sequel may be disappointed as the acclaimed actor suggests he could play a new character instead.

Speaking with Extra at CinemaCon, Tatum delved into his confirmed Doomsday appearance as he was one of the many names unveiled during Marvel's record-breaking casting announcement livestream. Though Tatum had a chair on that livestream, said chair only had his name and not the character he'll play, leading to speculation about whether he'll return as Gambit for the Avengers follow-up. While he hasn't ruled out playing Remy LeBeau again, he hinted that he could have a different part.

"Personally, all I was guaranteed was a chair. They said that I have a chair, and I can at least...

Chris Pratt Jokingly Addresses Absence From ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Cast Announcement: “They Must Have Cut Away From It”
Image
Chris Pratt is addressing his absence from last week’s Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement.

Marvel livestreamed the actors confirmed for the next Avengers installment featuring chairs with their names, and the Guardians of the Galaxy star and his crew were notably absent.

“I don’t know! I think it was, like, far off,” Pratt told Collider after being asked about his chair. “They must have cut away from it. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know. It was there. I’m sure it was there.”

Marvel hinted that it would reveal more names to star in the film, but it is unclear if Pratt would be included in the next set of actors.

Actors confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday included X-Men stars like Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier / Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast).

The Professor X Mistake Marvel Needs To Avoid In Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Now that the cast has been announced for "Avengers: Doomsday," you've gotta wonder if "X-Men: Doomsday" would be the better title. It's not just Doctor Doom making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the next "Avengers" film, it's also a certain merry band of mutant heroes. The X-Men are all going to be played by their actors from the 20th Century Fox films, including Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier.

We should've seen this coming. Every gesture the McU's Multiverse Saga made towards the X-Men brought back the Fox actors. Sir Stewart even played a variant of Xavier in 2022's "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness." Stewart didn't actually enjoy filming the "Doctor Strange" cameo, but he's back for more! That Xavier wasn't the precise iteration from previous films, but he did quote himself from the movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

"The Marvels" similarly ended with Monica...

Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 Takes Its Title From One Of The Most Infamous Marvel Storylines Ever
Image
If fans of the wall-crawling menace felt their spider senses tingling today, it'll be for a good reason. News straight from CinemaCon (via Variety) this week confirms that the long-awaited fourth installment of Tom Holland's Spider-Man will be titled "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," taking its name from one of the most loathed creative choices in the webhead's history.

The announcement was made by Holland himself, who appeared via video footage to reveal the upcoming chapter's title, promising that "'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is a fresh start." It was always expected that the next big screen issue in the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man's story would see Peter Parker's alter-ego start from scratch after making the brave wish for the world to forget him in "Spider-Man: No Way Home." Sadly, this included Zendaya's Mj, who we last saw share an awkward encounter in the film's final moments.

Halle Berry’s Role in Avengers: Doomsday: Industry Insider Has the Mother of All Updates on X-Men Casting in MCU
Image
Could it be possible that Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry would make her way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? She is reportedly set to reprise her iconic role as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday, and this has ignited fans’ hope that we’ll see her once again as the weather-controlling mutant.

Berry’s last outing as the famed character came in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, which was well over a decade ago. If this rumor is true, then she will be making her MCU debut in the highly anticipated installment set for next year’s release.

The multiverse element of the MCU has created a lot of opportunities for various characters to appear in different franchises or even make a surprise return after they have died without messing with the story or timeline.

'Spider-Man 4' Gets 'Brand New Day' Subtitle for MCU Sequel
Image
Marvel icon Spider-Man swings into CinemaCon thanks to Sony Pictures and Spider-Man 4. The ongoing deal between Sony and Marvel Studios puts the beloved web-slinger in something of a limbo state in which Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is part of the MCU...and a little separate.

During CinemaCon, Sony Pictures announced that the upcoming MCU sequel is now titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The title seemingly refers to a new beginning in Peter Parker's life after the world forgot who he was at the end of No Way Home. The Brand New Day subtitle actually surfaced online late last year, so it seems Sony and Marvel Studios have been set on the new title convention for quite some time now.

Set to follow the events of 2021’s billion-dollar blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home, which saw Peter Parker battling various villains from the previous iterations of the Spider-Man franchise,...

Major X-Men Star Absent From Cast Reveal Livestream Reportedly Set to Join Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Avengers: Doomsday could see Halle Berry make a thunderous entrance as her beloved X-Men franchise character, Storm. A new report claims the Oscar-winning actor is one of several names expected to feature in the upcoming Avengers sequel beyond those announced in the recent casting reveal.

According to trusted Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman, Berry is finalizing an agreement to make her long-awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Storm in Doomsday. This news comes after reports that, despite Marvel's record-breaking cast reveal livestream confirming the characters appearing in Doomsday, several actors expected to feature in the film have yet to officially sign on, suggesting the reveal was a tease of bigger things to come in the Avengers follow-up.

Several X-Men franchise characters have been confirmed for Doomsday, fully ushering the MCU into its mutant era. The next chapter in the Avengers saga will feature appearances by Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X...

10 Perfectly Cast Fox X-Men Characters Who Should Appear in the MCU
Image
The X-Men franchise has been around for decades, highlighting the team of mutants fighting against villains while dealing with a world that hates them. The X-Men movies, while flawed, did a great job at introducing the comic characters to the general public, and really set the precedent for what superhero movies could be, which ultimately led to the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With Disney buying Fox and planning on bringing the X-Men over to the MCU, many fans have wondered how the team of mutants will be adapted. While some fans hope for a full reboot with a new cast, there are some characters from the Fox X-Men films that were so perfectly cast, it will be hard for the MCU to beat. With the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine, it is clear that some Fox X-Men characters are still just as popular.
