Ma Troggian is a native Brazilian based in NYC whose artistic identity revolves around acting, writing, and creating music. She was considered for Best Actress at Brazil's biggest film festival, Gramado Film Festival, for her role in O Jardim Dos Amores de Woody Allen, and is the co-founder of Evoé, an award-winning collective dedicated to promoting Brazilian culture in theater and film. In 2017, the collective produced the play The Seven Kittens, for which Ma got another Best Actress nomination at the Brazilian International Press Award.
Ma had her playwright debut with Norma Jeane Was A Brunette, a play she wrote and starred in. She recently finished writing her first feature, Foreign, winner of Best Feature Script at the 2020 Feedback LGBT Toronto Film Festival and shortlisted for the 2022 Sundance Development Track. Her short script The Love of Jupiter won the 2022 PANO Microgrants and was selected for the 2022 Open Screenplay M Film Lab.
As a musician, she has worked as a DJ and released four singles, including Black Money and I Want Ur Luv, produced by Grammy award-winning producer Bob Brockmann.
Finally, Ma has received the City Artist Corps Grant to curate Make Music Don't Get Killed: A yearly showcase highlighting queer underrepresented performers and musicians in Brooklyn.
