He honed his skills at Prairie View A&M University, where he earned a degree in Animal Studies and Pre-Veterinary Medicine, with art & film always being his true passion.
Troy began his career working on independent films and local projects, all while quickly gaining a reputation for his creativity and technical expertise. His big break came when he was hired as a film construction laborer. He then worked his way up through the art department to later find himself as an effects technician for a major studio production company, where his work was widely recognized and praised.
Over the years Troy has worked on a diverse range of films, including Girls Trip, Terminator Genisys, amongst other action series like The Walking Dead, NCIS New Orleans, to critically acclaimed drama series like Queen Sugar. His portfolio includes collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry and his work has contributed to several award-winning projects. Troy's expertise spans practical effects, digital effects integration, and cutting-edge technologies. This has made him a versatile and sought-after professional in the field.
Beyond his professional achievements of becoming the first African American SPFX coordinator in the state of Louisiana and now notably the country, Troy is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of special effects artists. He regularly works with his former high school in athletics, Arts and even shared his knowledge as an elementary school teacher during the writers strike. Troy has conducted workshops and seminars, all while sharing his knowledge and inspiring the young talent in New Orleans and beyond.
