Netflix officially pulled the plug on Fate: The Winx Saga after two seasons earlier this week.
However, the franchise may not be dead yet.
Winx franchise creator Iginio Straffi revealed this week that the Netflix cancellation "is for a bigger reason."
“Fate has been an exciting adventure, a great achievement, and a hit watched by millions globally, re-confirming the power of the Winx world,” Straffi shared on Instagram.
“I am working on many exciting Winx projects in the near future, some of which I take so much joy in sharing with you.”
One of those projects is a "brand new CG Winx animated series reboot," which is set to go into production soon.
The creator promises the show will "sweep you back to the Winx world."
If that wasn't enough Winx goodness, Straffi said that a "big budget Winx movie" is in the works.
“For all the love you have given to Winx,...

It's the end of the line for Fate: The Winx Saga on Netflix.
According to showrunner Brian Young, the supernatural drama series has been canceled after two seasons.
"This is not fun news to share, but Netflix have decided not to move forward with Season Three of Fate: The Winx Saga," Young said on Instagram.
"This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season."
"It's a heartbreaking silver lining, but a silver lining all the same," the statement continues.
"I'm so proud of everyone who worked on the show, and so happy we got to tell the stories we did."
"Our cast and crew put in a ton of hard work creating this world and these characters," Young adds.
"I'm grateful for each and everyone one of them, and for all of you for watching."
"It's been an amazing four years. Hopefully, we'll see each other again in the future.

“Fate: The Winx Saga” Season 2 brought more danger for the teenage fairies at The Alfea School of magic, as they faced one of the strongest villains they’ve come across – Sebastian.
(Spoiler alert: This story dives into plot details from Season 2 of Netflix’s “Fate: The Winx Saga.)
Bloom (Abigail Cowen), Terra (Eliot Salt), Stella (Hannah van der Westhuysen) and Aisha (Precious Mustapha) had to combine their power to defeat Sebastian, whose goal this season was to get Bloom’s dragon flame for himself. Bouncing off each other’s energy, the young women found themselves floating into the air surrounded by bubbles of magic of different colors as they worked together to take down the Season 2 baddie, who made their lives — and those of their school chums — hell.

Fate: The Winx Saga still has plenty of magic up its sleeve. On season two of the Netflix teen drama, more magical mischief is afoot—and a very important character is along for the ride. The second season features the highly-anticipated arrival of Flora, played by Paulina Chávez, a beloved character from Winx Club, the Nickelodeon animated series on which The Winx Saga is based. That being said, Flora did not appear in season one. Some fans accused the series of whitewashing after the emergence of a new character named Terra, played by Eliot Salt, seemed to replace Latina fairy Flora. In taking on the role, Chávez knew expectations were high—especially given...

If you've been craving more supernatural dramas since "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" ended, Netflix's series "Fate: The Winx Saga" is here to satisfy your binge-watching needs. The first season premiered on Jan. 22, 2021, and it's filled with tons of drama, magic, and mystery. On Feb. 18, 2021, Netflix confirmed that the series had been renewed for a second season, which will consist of eight episodes. The streamer released the official trailer on Aug. 23, and it foreshadows a dramatic follow-up to the first season's intense conclusion.
The series is based on the animated series "Winx Club," which ran for eight seasons, so there is plenty of source material for the upcoming season. While the Netflix series faced criticism for its live-action adaptation, particularly the whitewashing of some of the main fairies, the intriguing plot certainly drew audiences in.
"Diversity both in front of and behind the camera is vital and much-needed throughout the industry and internationally.

Bloom Peters is just about done with restraining herself and her powers — and her friends are more than happy to help her out along the way. In a new trailer for Netflix’s Season 2 of “Fate: The Winx Saga,” the fairies are more powerful — and perhaps more reckless — than ever.
Of course, there are changes happening this season. As the trailer ominously warns: “The old regime is gone. It’s time to embrace the new one.” That new one is led by Headmistress Rosalind, who rules over the school with an iron fist. But apparently, she was also “working on some super mysterious s—.” As a result, fairies from Alfea are starting to go missing.
According to Netflix’s official synopsis for the season, “School’s back in session under the militant authority of Alfea’s former Headmistress Rosalind. With the Burned Ones gone, Dowling ‘disappeared’ and Silva imprisoned for treason,...
