The FBI franchise fans got some bad news in March from CBS. FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted both got canceled and are set to air their final episodes soon.

Filming has officially wrapped for both seasons and will end after the remaining episodes air. FBI: Most Wanted wrapped production on its sixth season, while FBI: International is in its fourth season. As the two series have filmed their final scenes, many cast members started sharing their thoughts on the finales, and FBI: International's Eva-Jane Willis paid a tribute to the procedural's Og stars, Carter Redwood and Vinessa Vidotto, on Instagram.

The casts of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International bid adieu as their respective canceled series wrapped filming.

While the CBS cancellations were announced in early March, leaving behind mothership series FBI — now in its seventh installment and renewed through the 2026-27 broadcast season — the spinoffs had yet to wrap production and finish filming, meaning they had time to adjust scripts to rework material into series finales.

Though Most Wanted will end after Season 6 and International was canceled after four seasons, the FBI universe is slated to get a new offshoot with the tentatively titled CIA, featuring Lucifer alum Tom Ellis. That offshoot, written by Dick Wolf and Most Wanted showrunner David Hudgins, follows two unlikely partners: a fast-talking, rule-breaking loose cannon CIA case officer (Ellis) and a by-the-book, seasoned and smart FBI agent who believes in the rule of law.

Edwin Hodge, who joined the cast of Most Wanted...

FBI: International Season 4, Episode 15, "They May Get Their Wish," is an uncomfortable episode that will mostly be remembered for being creepy. FBI: International Stars Share Heartfelt Farewells After Cancelation
Image
FBI: International's cast have reacted to the show's shocking cancellation. CBS announced earlier this month it was axing both current FBI spinoffs, International and Most Wanted.

The network's surprising cancellation of two of its most popular procedurals leaves only the original FBI series on the air for now. Franchise creator Dick Wolf is developing another potential spinoff titled FBI: CIA, about a joint FBI-cia Taskforce fighting terrorism.

Vinessa Vidotto and Eva-Jane Willis Respond to FBI: International's Cancelation

Vinessa Vidotto, who plays Special Agent Cameron Vo, responded to FBI: International's demise via Instagram by paying tribute to the four years she has spent in Hungary filming the action-drama.

"Never did I think this would be my life. I've lived in Hungary longer than LA, like what!?" she wrote. "If someone told me That, I wouldn't believe it. Booking this role was also my first time traveling to Europe. What does jetlag feel like?...

‘FBI: International’ Stars Bid Farewell to Canceled Show: ‘What a Wild Ride’

The FBI: International team is saying goodbye to the CBS show, its fans, and its Hungarian filming locations now that CBS has canceled the show. “FBI: International. What. A. Wild ride,” Vinessa Vidotto, the actor behind FBI Special Agent Cameron Vo, wrote on Instagram on Saturday, March 15. “Four years. Ten-plus countries. Wow. Never did I think this would be my life. I’ve lived in Hungary longer than L.A. Like, what?! If someone told me that, I wouldn’t believe it.” Vidotto added that she went from never having traveled to Europe and not knowing what jet lag feels like to learning “a wee bit” of Hungarian, enjoying local food and scenery, and “[making] lifelong friends with coworkers on set, fans, guest stars, and the locals.” And to the fans, she wrote, “Thank you for watching our show and being invested. Quick LinksHow FBI: International Writes Out Riley QuinnFBI: International Season 4, Episode 14 Gets Back to Wes and CameronWhy CBS May Regret Canceling FBI: International

The following contains major spoilers from FBI: International Season 4, Episode 14, "A Winged Lion for Protection," which debuted Tuesday, March 11 on CBS.

FBI: International Season 4, Episode 14, "A Winged Lion for Protection" is the first episode to air since CBS cancelled the series, and it shows both the untapped potential and why the network may have come to that decision. The Riley Quinn storyline comes to an end just as awkwardly as it started, and the major guest star is wasted. But there's also some solid work from the core cast, and a welcome return by a past character, even if he's not the Fly Team's friend.

"A Winged Lion for Protection" follows the squad as they investigate the murder of a designer's personal assistant in Italy. All signs...

6 FBI: International and Most Wanted characters who could move over to FBI: CIA
Image
FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted are coming to an end, but there's hope some characters can make their way to a new spinoff!

It's a big shock for FBI fans as CBS announced that both FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted will be ending with their current seasons. That leaves just the main FBI show, but CBS is planning a new spinoff that connects the FBI and CIA.

While it's likely that the spinoff will have several new characters, it would be fun if the show could bring in some from International and Most Wanted. Both shows boast some popular characters and actors who would fit into this new spinoff well. A few may be too tied to their respective shows (it's hard to see Remy Scott working with the CIA), but others would be a fine addition. These are a half-dozen characters from those two canceled FBI shows...

FBI star confirms spinoff worlds will "stay alive" despite recent cancelations
Image
FBI fans are going through it right now. The franchise went from three titles to just one in the span of a week. CBS confirmed that it would not be renewing FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International after their current seasons end, and trying again with a new slate of spinoffs.

While it's exciting to get new FBI shows, it's going to be tough to say goodbye to the characters we've come to know and love on Most Wanted and International. There is, however, some glimmers of hope. Zeeko Zaki, the star of the flagship show, sat down with TV Line to discuss the franchise's future, and potential plans to incorporate characters from now-canceled titles.

Zeeko Zaki is hopeful about FBI's "future" “Perfect” – The team is called in to track down a serial killer after the bodies of multiple women with the same physical description are found scattered across the city.

The Fly Team has barely stepped foot on land in Venice when they get a rundown of the case, and already we can see some problems for them in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the March 11 episode of FBI: International. CBS has canceled FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International
Jon Voight and Keenen Ivory Wayans in Se Busca Vivo O Muerto (1997)
FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International just got canceled by CBS.

Social media loves to joke about not getting fired on your day off, and that just happened with the CBS shows.

With no episodes airing on its regular Tuesday night (March 4), this news will hit fans even harder.

The good news is that the flagship show, FBI, received a three-year renewal last April.

FBI Season 8 will air next year, and FBI Season 9 will debut in the 2026-2027 broadcast season.

More FBI spin-offs are also in the works, with FBI: CIA in development, possibly for the next television season.

FBI: Most wanted gets canceled

FBI: Most Wanted ends with its current sixth season.

The first FBI spin-off, Most Wanted, showcased an elite team that chased fugitives.

Julian McMahon, Kellan Lutz, Keisha Castle-Hughes, and Nathaniel Arcand starred on the show.

Dylan McDermott joined in Season 4 after McMahon left the hit drama.

'FBI: Most Wanted' & 'FBI: International' Canceled by CBS
Image
CBS has sent two of Dick Wolf's popular procedural dramas to the chopping block in a surprise move as the network tries to make room in its schedule and slash costs. The high-profile cuts come from the FBIuniverse, with the network deciding to cancel two of its popular spinoffs.

Per Deadline, CBS has decided to cancel FBI spinoffs FBI: Most Wantedand FBI: International. The former has run the longest, at six seasons, while International has been a part of the network's lineup for four seasons. On the surface, it seems unclear why CBS has decided to ditch the two spinoffs, especially since both shows do pretty decently in linear viewership. The potential problem for both shows is that they aren't produced in-house and come from Universal Television, which can make renewal negotiations very tricky. CBS has had negotiations go down to the wire in recent years with NBCUniversal, particularly with the FBI franchise.

Chicago Pd could benefit from FBI: International being canceled (here's how)
Image
FBI was a franchise seemed to be on an upward trajectory. It had three shows on the air, and had already announced plans for a fourth. Now, however, that number has been cut in half. CBS has now axed FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted.

This is a pretty shocking turn of events. We have never really seen a network decide to pull the plug on two big name spinoffs such as these before. We're sad to see the spinoffs go, but not all hope is left. We will delve into the Dick Wolf of it all, and how there's still a chance the shows could be saved and revived via another network. But that's for another article. We want to focus on an actor.
