When is We Were the Lucky Ones Episode 8 coming on Hulu? If you are waiting for the next episode of the series you have come to the right place.
Hulu has an excellent Holocaust drama ‘We Were the Lucky Ones’ which is based on Georgia Hunter’s bestselling of the same name – the plot is incredibly expansive.
When we say ‘expansive’, we mean there are a Ton of characters. Similarly, the limited series also covers a heavy terrain in Poland, where the Kurc family is based.
We’re breaking it down episode after episode – because each one is a masterpiece.
Synopsis of the series
The limited series has an incredible cast, we know that. This genre cast can bring the series to life, as it follows the tight-knit members of the Kurc family as they struggle with their lives after the Nazi invasion in Poland perpetually alters it – and the subsequent emergence of WWII.

As of Episode 4, “We Were the Lucky Ones” is still in the midst of the Nazi domination of Europe. But the Hulu limited series has already displayed a preference for swerving away from the expected tropes of the period. It’s telling a World War II saga that features no battlefields and a chronicle of Jewish resistance that is more about forging and smuggling than about killing Nazis.
“We Were the Lucky Ones” is all the better for showing the audience new kinds of hardships and new avenues for survival, too. It shines when dramatic moments feel specific to the Kurcs, the Polish Jewish family the show follows as the war scatters them across Europe and even further afield, as opposed to the kinds of war imagery that, given the number of WWII dramas each year, can appear standard issue.

Co-composers Rachel Portman and Jon Ehrlich have only met in person once, and collaborated across the globe while scoring Hulu’s “We Were the Lucky Ones.”
Despite this, both Portman and Ehrlich said that working across continents was one of the best parts of the process. Erhlich said: “She would work on something, and then I would wake up in the morning and go to the studio and unwrap a gift. Then by the end of my day, I was handing it off to her, and she could kind of pick up where I left off. It was really a kind of passing the baton back and forth.”
The series is an adaptation of Georgia Hunter’s best-selling novel of her family’s fight to survive the Holocaust while living in Poland. Joey King stars as Halina, Hunter’s great aunt alongside Logan Lerman as Addy, Hunter’s grandfather. Other cast members include Sam Woolf,...

“We Were the Lucky Ones” has its warning built into the title. The Hulu series based on the book by Georgia Hunter and adapted by Erica Lipez is about how one family survived and separated during the Holocaust, all of it underscored by that title — this is what they went through, the horror they witnessed and endured, the sadness that befell them, and they were lucky.
The series kicks off in Radom, Poland before the War, with the Kurc family: Siblings Halina (Joey King), Addy (Logan Lerman), Genek (Henry Lloyd-Hughes), Jakob (Amit Rahav), and Mila (Hadas Yaron) — and their parents, Sol (Lior Ashkenazi) and Nechuma (Robin Weigert). The Kurcs are close-knit, their home echoing with overlapping voices and laughter at the holidays, and they already feel the pangs of missing Addy, who lives in Paris.
War creeps in, but at first, life continues. Lipez limits the show’s scope exactly right,...

Actress Joey King, who gained major fandom with her work in ‘The Kissing Booth’ franchise, has opened up about facing anti-semitism at the age of 12 and also having trauma counselors on the sets of Holocaust series ‘We Were the Lucky Ones’ set’.
Talking about her facing anti-semitism, the 24-year-old actress said it was when she joined Instagram at age 12.
“Within the first couple months I got my first anti-Semitic remark and it would dip in terms of how frequent or how much it would happen, and it would kind of roller coaster in terms of how often I would experience it, but that was shocking when I was that age,” she said.
“Now I just expect it because anti-semitism is not the only thing I experience in terms of bullying online. So it almost feels like one of many symptoms of a grand diagnosis of horrible Internet people. I’m saddened,...

Joey King has nothing against method acting – it’s just not for her.
Especially for projects like her latest, the Holocaust series “We Were the Lucky Ones.”
Based on Georgia Hunter’s best-selling novel of her family’s fight to survive the Holocaust, Logan Lerman stars as Hunter’s grandfather Addy alongside King as his younger sister Halina. Rounding out the cast are Sam Woolf, Robin Weigart, Lior Ashkenazi, Hadas Yaron, Amit Rahav and Eva Feiler.
“I think anyone who is a method actor is truly so brave and amazing, but I’m personally not a method actor,” King tells me on this week’s episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast. “And when shooting a show like this, I just don’t know how I could be because having those moments of release in between setups and in between takes with your friends [is needed].”

Depending on the moment, the title of Hulu’s We Were the Lucky Ones might sound like a bitter lament or a prayer of thanks, a sigh of relief or an expression of anguish. In the end, it also simply sounds true. Based on the novel by Georgia Hunter — which in turn was inspired by the actual history of her ancestors — the miniseries traces the far-flung journeys of the Kurcs, a Polish Jewish family, throughout World War II. That their paths will be harrowing is not in doubt; a sobering opening caption reminds us that “By the end of the Holocaust, 90% of Poland’s three million Jews were annihilated.”
Yet an exercise in misery this isn’t. No matter how devastating these stories get, what binds all of them together is a sense of hope — stubborn, hard-won, fainter at certain times than others but always undeniably there. So overwhelming is...

Whether you love Netflix's take on "The Witcher" or just love to hate it, there's no denying that this season's major battle episode was pretty epic. In episode six of season 3, the coup at Aretuza quickly transformed into an all-out fight, with bodies exploding and a ring of fire raining down upon both sides -- not to mention a final confrontation that left our titular witcher in bad shape. In the midst of all the chaos, though, the show makes time for a brief, effortlessly cool moment: the death of Rience (Sam Woolf).
Rience was been positioned as a shadowy, dangerous schemer since day one. He was a fire mage with a stereotypical villain scar on his face who spent much of the series hot on Ciri's (Freya Allan) trail. But when he finally got the chance to face off against her, it was a short-lived moment that was...

Spoiler Alert: This recap contains spoilers for “The Witcher” Season 3, Part 2, now streaming on Netflix.
“The Witcher” fans knew Season 3 would be bittersweet. It’s the final installment of the Netflix fantasy series before Henry Cavill, who has starred as famed monster hunter Geralt of Rivia since Season 1, is replaced by Liam Hemsworth in an unexpected shake-up.
Beginning in Season 4, Hemsworth will be donning Geralt’s swords, Witcher medallions and long, white locks, while the rest of the cast remains intact — except, of course, for those characters who died in Season 3, Part 2’s bloody battles.
Since the recasting was announced, fans have been wondering how the switch from Cavill to Hemsworth will happen. Would Hemsworth appear in the Season 3 finale? Would some kind of spell change Geralt’s Cavill-esque appearance into something more Hemsworth-ian? How would Geralt’s relationships with Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), Ciri (Freya Allen) and Jaskier (Joey Batey) be affected?...

Star stylist Sam Woolf has been working with Latto only since November, but what a thrilling few months it’s been. Since releasing her second studio album, 777, last March, the best new artist nominee at Sunday’s 2023 Grammys has been riding a wave that could be dubbed “Big Energy,” to borrow from 777‘s hit single, which spent 37 consecutive weeks in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“Her record blew up globally and really put her on the map, but she’s still the same easygoing person, so open to ideas and fun to work with,” Woolf says of the Atlanta-born artist, whose real name is Alyssa Michelle Stephens. “For the Grammys, she said she wanted simply to feel really pretty and beautiful. We know pretty could mean a lot of things: princess, sexy, avant-garde. But we already did a more avant-garde look for the [American Music Awards], so we’re going in...

Disgruntled angels are coming to Hulu. The streamer has ordered Standing By, a satirical look into the lives of a group of eternally bound, irritated guardian angels and the lessons they’ll eventually learn from not only the dysfunctional humans they’re in charge of protecting but also one another.
The animated series is from 20th TV Animation and creators Dan Levy and Ally Pankiw. Danielle Uhlarik will serve as showrunner and executive producer. “Standing By is about the hilarity, embarrassment and melodrama of everyday life as observed by a team of judgmental, gossip-starved guardian angels,” said Levy and Pankiw in a joint statement. “We are very excited to bring this world to life with the help of Hulu, 20th Television Animation, and Bento Box Entertainment. Among the many controversies that gripped the British Royal Family during the 1990s was one that would only come to light almost two decades later, when Prince Andrew’s friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell (who was convicted of sex trafficking last December) was eventually exposed in the press.
The scandal, which metastasized after Prince Andrew was sued in a civil court for sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s victims, destroyed his public standing. His mother, Queen Elizabeth II, stripped him of his many patronages and military titles before she died and, despite denying any wrongdoing and ultimately settling with Giuffre, Andrew is still effectively banished from public life.
But for James Murray, who plays Prince Andrew in Season 5 of “The Crown,” there was no apprehension about stepping into the disgraced royal’s buffed shoes. “My thoughts were, ‘Great, fantastic,’” Murray tells Variety.

Chris Fulton stars as Rience in Season 2 of The Witcher. Pic credit: Netflix/Susie Allnut
Season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher saw the introduction of a new character, Rience, portrayed by Chris Fulton.
Rience was a fiery villain — literally and figuratively — being a fire mage.
In Season 2, viewers were introduced to this character as he relentlessly pursued Ciri (Freya Alan).
Rience had been unable to track down Ciri until he heard a particular song by Jaskier (Joey Batey) and then trapped the bard and tortured him to gain information about Ciri’s whereabouts.
Luckily for Jaskier, Yennifer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) turned up and managed to rescue him and they fled from Rience.
Rience’s pursuit will continue in Season 3 of The Witcher but, this time, the character will be portrayed by a new actor.
