Kiranraj K is an Indian Film Director, Documentary Film Maker and film Actor who works in Kannada cinema. His directional debut in feature film titled "777 Charlie" produced by Rakshit Shetty & GS Gupta under the banner Paramvah Studio. Kiran has also penned the story and the screenplay for the movie.
Kiranraj is one of the writer of The Seven Odds, a team of writers for the film Kirik Party. He is directing a segment in the upcoming Kannada anthology film Katha Sangama scheduled to release in December 2017.
Kiranraj K was born in a small village called Kumbadaje, in Kasaragod district, Kerala. His father Achutha K, was farmer and mother Godavari. Being the first child, a lot of responsibilities were vested on Kiran's shoulders. He did his schooling from ALPS Marikkana Pavoor, J.A.S.B.S. School Manya, Sri Annapoorneshwari High School Agalpady and higher secondary from Matha Education Mangalore. He did his specialization in Film Direction from Star Creators Film Institute, Bangalore. His film career kick started in Bangalore in 2011.
Through his career he has directed short films, documentaries, music albums. In 2011, he made the telefilm Kaavala (translation:The Darkness) based on the theme of upholding the morality and justice in our society, received rave reviews. His next work was Kanasu (English: Dream), a music video which articulates the values of human relationship. Kiranraj later made a short film Kabbina Haalu (English: Sugarcane Juice) is based on a real life incident, which depicts the conflict of difference in the privileged-underprivileged through the characters of two innocent kids. Kabbina Haalu won the Best Film Award at the Vibha South Indian Short Film Festival in the year 2013. His next Documentary film was The Yakshagana Puppets which is the first ever documentary film on Yakshagana Puppets and was produced by well known Indian puppeteer K. V. Ramesh. He has also worked as an Associate director for the films Endendigu directed by Imran Sardhariya, Ricky and Kirik Party directed by Rishab Shetty.
