At first, real estate agent Farrah Brittany was unsure if she wanted to do the new Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills, which charts the inner workings of The Agency, founded by her stepfather Mauricio Umansky.
“I definitely had qualms. Because, obviously, we’re making a show about our profession,” she said at the November premiere party for the new Netflix series, held at Wheelhouse LA. “Everything you do, you’re looking through the lens of, ‘How is this going to be received by our clients, by viewers?’ We want to look professional. So, I was definitely nervous.”
However, Brittany was heartened by the fact that Buying Beverly Hills — the latest in a slew of real-estate-focused reality shows including Oppenheim Group’s Selling Sunset, Million Dollar Listing, and the new Selling the Oc — actually features the intricacies of luxury real estate deals and transactions.

Netflix's reality-tv real-estate repertoire is growing. On June 23, the streaming giant announced its slate of both new and returning shows - including official season six and seven renewals for Emmy-nominated series "Selling Sunset" - that are set to deliver even more exciting home-renovation and real-estate programming for our viewing pleasure!
Among the bunch was "Buying Beverly Hills," a new docusoap featuring "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"-star-slash-real-estate-boss Mauricio Umansky (Kyle Richards's husband) and his family. In a format similar to "Selling Sunset," the series will follow Mauricio's international luxury brokerage company at its sunny headquarters in Beverly Hills, along with its group of agents - which includes his daughters, Farrah Brittany and Alexia Umansky.
And on Oct. 7, Netflix finally dropped a trailer for the series, which is debuting this November. In it, it's clear fans can expect both business and family drama, as Mauricio advises, "The more successful you are,...

Less than a month after his very public split from fiancée Demi Lovato, the actor posted a photo of him FaceTiming Sonika Vaid, an American Idol alum Max was spotted out with in October. A couple weeks ago on episode 4 of the current 16th season of Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” the show opened with 18-year-old twin brothers, Trent and Colton Edwards, contemporary dancers with flair to spare who are based in Pittsburgh. They explained that they only took up dancing three years ago. However, they also added that they had musical theater experience, which they said provided the equivalent of Tsa PreCheck when it came to taking on dance. Cute, huh?
The good-looking twosome instantly charmed the judges with their talkative personalities as cheeky Colton confessed that he was the evil twin of the two. Their “Sytycd” performance (see clip above) was quite a showstopper and even caused judge Mary Murphy to let loose with one of her sonic shrieks of glee. Our American Idol “journey” has come to an end, but let us not weep for what’s been cancelled, let us instead go to iTunes and download the Season 15 winner’s new single. Hey, from a songwriting vantage point, it may not be “Home,” but it definitely ranks above “No Boundaries” and “Inside Your Heaven” — and we bought those, too. And if this show can produce one more bona fide radio/touring superstar, maybe the inevitable reboot will happen sooner than expected, no?

There's only one week to go until the American Idol series finale. Before we get there, though, there are still two more eliminations to get through, with the fourth-place finisher being revealed next. Who will it be -- La'Porsha Renae, MacKenzie Bourg, Trent Harmon or Dalton Rapattoni?
After Sonika Vaid's elimination, will the next singer to leave be another obvious choice or should we expect a shocker after one singer stole the show and overshadowed the frontrunner? Let's get into all that and make some predictions.

The final Top 4 in American Idol history hit the stage to perform both a classic rock hit and a tune from the Sia songbook, and the results were largely underwhelming until two singers provided moments at the end. The episode also featured the wholly-expected elimination of Sonika Vaid, who fails to make the rankings with her non-performances even though I think she would've done well with "Because the Night." It's a Patti Smith/Bruce Springsteen favorite, but Sonika may have been able to channel at least one of her inner maniacs into Natalie Merchant success. But alas, it was not meant to be. And based on the rankings, it's clear who should join her next week.

I may not have grown up under the Common Core Standards, but I know enough math to figure out the following simple equation:
There are six weeks left of American Idol‘s Season 15. There are seven weeks left of Kelly Clarkson’s pregnancy. If Fox and 19 Entertainment spring for a luxury Rv to transport the original Idol winner to and from Hollywood every Thursday between now and the April 7 finale, there is no reason whatsoever she can’t upgrade this rollercoaster of a Farewell Season with her sweetly rambling, stream-of-consciousness, heartfelt and honest critiques. (And the occasional emotionally devastating performance.

I know American Idol is no longer Godzilla emerging from the Ratings Ocean and stomping all over every other network’s primetime competition, but last week’s 8.2 million viewers (and 2.0 demo rating) is pretty dang respectable.

Five more contestants are about to be sent packing on American Idol: The Farewell Season, inching us ever closer to the point when audiences will finally have a say. But before Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., can round out the Top 14, we've got another round of Idol alum duets on tap.
The first set of pairings largely fell flat, save for the Caleb Johnson/Sonika Vaid and Avalon Young/Ruben Studdard combos and, to a lesser extent, the Fantasia/La'Porsha scream-run battle. Still, it's nice to see all the people we've helped become famous return to where it all started. Except for Scotty McCreery, who clearly had no interest in being there.

No one left the cake out in the rain during Thursday’s American Idol semifinal results show, but producers may have yanked it out of the oven when it was still making the transition from lukewarm batter to delicious baked good.

Let’s look on the bright side of American Idol‘s controversial and unprecedented decision not to allow viewers to have any say in the outcome of its Farewell Season semifinals:

* There’ll be none of the “What is wrong with America?”/”I’m moving to Barcelona!” outrage over the Idoloonie Nation’s dubious voting patterns that we experienced, for example, on The Season 9 Bloodbath That Claimed Lilly Scott, Katelyn Epperly and Alex Lambert.
* Reduced risk of carpal tunnel syndrome due to frenetic online and smartphone voting.

It’s good to know that 15 seasons in, American Idol hasn’t lost its ability to send me into a teeth-gnashing, plate-smashing, imaginary mascara-running rage.

Ok, no fine china was harmed in the writing of my Top 24 Announcement Episode recap — decade-old Crate and Barrel still beats a Dixie paper plate — but still, that’s not to say the “Final Judgment”/”Green Mile” announcement didn’t make me fantasize about the satisfying shatter of ceramic against the living-room wall.

We may have gotten past the side-eye-inducing drama of American Idol‘s Group Rounds, but rest assured, executive producer Trish Kinane and her mischievous band of editors aren’t going to let this Farewell Season run on the fuel of vocal performances alone.
Preposterous teenage “love stories,” tales of next-level bronchitis (#AintNobodyGotTimeForThat) and the weeping of the lambs all came into play during Wednesday’s final solos (aka The Holding Rooms of the Damned). Show of hands: Did you cringe after Sara Sturm said Lee Jean was like a little brother to her, but Ryan’s voiceover kept pushing them as future lovers anyhow?...

Hi, my name is Michael, and I’m an American Idol conspiracy theorist.
I live to detect (and overanalyze) every subtle dig from J.Lo, Harry and Keith, every unflattering camera angle or soundbite selection from the show’s producers, every early signal that behind the Idol curtain, an early “winner’s edit” is being fashioned from a few well-executed notes, a fawning reaction shot, some duct tape and a chain of paper clips.

The final premiere week of American Idol showcased some really strong talent. Michelle Marie, Shelby Z., Melanie Tierce, Olivia Rox, Malie Delgado were some of the standouts, with Sonika Vaid and Tristan McIntosh as my singers to watch.
But when Idol traveled to Philadelphia to kick off week two of auditions for season 15, things weren't looking too bright. We'll see some more Philly auditions later on mixed in with other cities, so maybe there will be some bright spots then, but as of right now, this might end up being the weakest city this season.
