Dude Perfect is getting its game on.
The five-man trickshot group, which has more than 60 million subscribers on YouTube and recently scored a nine-figure investment, is launching Dude Perfect Dodgeball, a 16-person Fortnite mode set on its own branded island within the game.
Dude Perfect–aka Tyler Toney, Cody Jones, Garrett Hilbert, and brothers Coby and Cory Cotton–teamed up with GoPro, Cherry Pick Talent, and CreatorsCorp to make the mode in Fortnite Creative, Fortnite‘s game developer/user-generated content creation tool.
The dudes’ dodgeball mode is themed around an upcoming YouTube video that’s sponsored by GoPro and dropping June 1. It’s not your typical dodgeball–it’s battle royale-style. Sixteen players will spawn on a GoPro-and-Dude Perfect-branded yacht, and be greeted by a Fornitified version of Toney, who’ll escort them onto the island. They’ll have to traverse beach and jungle to find power-up orbs, all while...

Two years ago, Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, ventured to Bentonville, Arkansas, with his management team to talk creators — and chocolate. Donaldson, a giant on YouTube (252 million-plus subscribers), was aiming to leverage his audience to build a real-world business: a candy line called Feastables. And Walmart, based in Bentonville, signed on as a launch partner.
Feastables now brings in nine figures annually in revenue, Donaldson told a conference last year, making it a textbook example of how a creator can monetize fandom. “I know for a fact that Walmart and a lot of these retailers are now going, ‘Ok, what Jimmy did in chocolate, what Logan [Paul] did in hydration [with beverage brand Prime], are creators building in other categories? And should we be more aggressive?” says Reed Duchscher, CEO of creator management firm Night Media, which had repped MrBeast in all areas until recently but now just reps Donaldson for his Feastables business.

Dude Perfect has bulked up its war chest as it prepares for the next phase of its expansion. The entertainment brand that got its start with basketball trick shots has secured a “nine-figure” investment from private equity firm Highmount Capital.
Though the exact size of the funding round was not disclosed, the deal will imbue Dude Perfect with upwards of $100 million, which will be applied to the media company’s continued growth and expansion. Though Dude Perfect initially began with a single YouTube channel, it has since evolved into a multiplatform empire that includes a streaming service, an ownership stake in a Premier League soccer club, and even a cruise. Meanwhile, the original Dude Perfect channel is still going strong; it counts more than 60 million subscribers.
With its latest injection of capital, Dude Perfect will pursue new opportunities and projects while continuing to forge partnerships and build their management team.

One of the biggest brands on YouTube is planning a significant expansion, and has locked up a massive investment to do it.
Dude Perfect, perhaps best known for their elaborate trick shot videos on YouTube and other video platforms, have secured a nine-figure investment from Highmount Capital in a play to build out their business in new areas and to expand their core programming.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though a source pegged the value of the investment at greater than $100 million, a huge number for a brand originally built on YouTube.
“We’ve had a lot of dreams and big visions that we haven’t yet been able to tackle with the size team that we have, or the amount of capital that we’ve had so far, and so this was something that we’ve been looking into for the past year, and we were really excited when Highmount came along,...

A moon mission funded by a Japanese billionaire and powered by SpaceX technology will bring a group of artists on its lunar voyage. One of the creative people chosen for that out-of-this-world honor is Tim Dodd, a science creator known on YouTube as the Everyday Astronaut.
Dodd is a fitting choice for the mission known as dearMoon, since his YouTube career was inspired by it. In a video announcing his decision to join the dearMoon crew, Dodd said that he started making videos after SpaceX first announced its lunar initiative in 2017. A year later, he attended the press conference where billionaire Yusaku Maezawa took control of dearMoon and revealed that the mission would utilize SpaceX’s then-upcoming Starship rocket.
After responding to a public call for applications in 2021, Dodd went through interviews and medical checkups as part of the dearMoon screening process. He will use his technical knowledge to help...

Dude Perfect is going big with its next headquarters.
The five-man trickshot group is planning to construct a sprawling complex with a 330-foot tower where fans can attempt the kinds of long-shot tricks seen on their YouTube channel, which has 58 million subscribers.
According to The Dallas Morning News, the complex—referred to as “Trick Shot Town“–could cost as much as 100 million.
Dude Perfect is currently headquartered on All Stars Avenue in Frisco, Texas. They’re working with San Antonio-based architecture firm Overland Partners to design the new place.
As for where it’ll be, the dudes aren’t entirely sure. Coby Cotton told Sports Business Journal the group “would love for it to be nearby” their Frisco headquarters. “That said, we are exploring all different options and we’ve had a lot of interest from different cities,” he added.
Overland Partners’ senior principal Bryan Trubey said interested cities include Los Angeles and Atlanta.

If you’re into trick shots, sports, and common stereotypes, an upcoming cruise may have everything you’re looking for. Dude Perfect, the Texas-based fivesome that has turned its brand of sports entertainment into one of the most-watched channels on YouTube, will host a three-day Caribbean adventure called Cruise Perfect.
The branded cruise is being launched in partnership with Sixthman, a live events company that produces “festivals on sand and at sea.” The Dude Perfect crew will set sail from Miami on January 20, 2023 aboard the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship. They’ll be joined by their fans, who will take in a weekend full of themed activities. There will be a Dude Perfect live show, a Q&a session, and plenty of photo opportunities. Travelers can also expect more typical cruise activities, such as a shore excursion to the Bahamian capital of Nassau.

The NFL broadcasting field is about to get a lot more crowded. And loud.
Following the success of ESPN’s Peyton and Eli Manning-led “Manningcast” and Paramount’s Nickelodeon-themed NFL playoff game (and its own experience developing alternate audio feeds for NFL games), Amazon is planning a major push into alternative broadcast streams for the upcoming season of Thursday Night Football.
The tech giant said Monday that the hosts of Dude Perfect, the popular YouTube and social media trick shot personalities, will host an alternate stream this season.
Unlike previous seasons of Tnf, which saw Amazon encourage alternate audio tracks (hosts included Andrea Kremer and Hannah Storm, former NFL scouts, and a variety of Twitch streamers), the Dude Perfect feed will include video of the guys doing challenges and attempting world record tricks in between plays, joined by special guests. The...
