Prime Video has unveiled has unveiled its latest slate of Italian original shows and films at a Presents event in Rome, including a remake of No Activity.
The streamer’s glitzy event revealed three new original scripted shows, two unscripted series and six movies, along with a number of returning shows. Among the scripted series is Antonia, the comedy-drama from Groenlandia and Fidelio we told you about earlier this morning in Europe.
Joining Antonia is another Groenlandia series, Niente da Segnalare, which is based on the Australian drama format No Activity.
The six-episode series follows two criminals waiting for an important shipment, two cops on stakeout ready to trigger a raid and two dispatch operators ready to send reinforcements. When the shipment doesn’t arrive, everyone is forced into an exhausting wait.

Italian director Ferzan Ozpetek has started shooting the romantic drama Nuovo Olimpo in Rome today for Netflix. Damiano Gavino and Andrea Di Luigi star with Luisa Ranieri, Greta Scarano, Aurora Giovinazzo, Alvise Rigo, and Giancarlo Commare.
Ozeptek has written the script with regularr collaborator Gianni Romoli who is also producing the film with Tilde Corsi for R&c Productions and Faros Film.

Prolific Turkish-Italian director Ferzan Ozpetek has started shooting “Nuovo Olimpo,” a Rome-set gay romance that marks his first collaboration with Netflix.
Ozpetek’s first Netflix Italian original film is the fourteenth feature from the popular helmer known for commercially successful pics such as “Ignorant Fairies” and “Loose Cannons.” He was celebrated during an AmfAR gala at the Venice Film Festival in September in recognition for how his movies bring to the fore characters within the LGBTQ community. Ozpetek’s works are also consistently among Italy’s most widely exported movies despite the fact they don’t always go to festivals.
Set in the late 1970s “Nuovo Olimpo” is about two 25-year-old men who meet by chance, fall madly in love, and are then separated due to an unexpected event. For the next thirty years they pursue the hope of finding each other again.

Disney+ has put Italian true crime drama This is Not Hollywood — Avetrana into production in Puglia.
The four-part series (original title Avetrana – Qui non è Hollywood) is based on the true story of the death Sarah Scazzi and the massive media response. Each 80-minute episode takes point of view of one of the story’s main protagonists — Sarah, Sabrina, Michele and Cosima, who are played by Federica Pala, Giulia Perulli, Paolo De Vita and Vanessa Scalera, respectively.
Imma Villa, Anna Ferzetti and Giancarlo Commare have also been cast for key roles in the show, which is based on Carmine Gazzanni and Flavia Piccinni’s book ‘Sarah: La Ragazza di Avetrana.’
