The Gentlemen is the latest entry into Guy Ritchie‘s chaotic and hilarious world of crime. The Netflix series is created by Ritchie himself and it is set in the world of Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name. It follows the story of Eddie Horniman, who unexpectedly inherits the title of Duke and his father’s whole estate. Still, he is more surprised as what he doesn’t know is that his father was in cahoots with criminals, who were growing cannabis on their estate. Eddie decides that he wants to rid his family estate of all the weed plants and criminals, but before he can do that he might have to do some criminal things himself first. The Gentlemen stars Theo James in the lead roles with Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Vinnie Jones, Ruby Sear, Joely Richardson, Giancarlo Esposito, Alexis Rodney, and Harry Goodwins starring in supporting roles.

NBC's decision to cancel Good Girls after four seasons on Friday left fans reeling.
With five episodes of Good Girls Season 4 remaining, whether fans will get any closure remains to be seen.
Stars of the show reacted to the news with some humor in the aftermath of the decision.
Christina Hendricks and Mae Whitman shared a similar meme that shows Hendrick's Beth covering the eyes of Whitman's Annie with her hands.
It alludes to Beth shielding Annie from the news that the series has been canceled.
“Well, we gave it our all. We really did,” Hendricks wrote on Instagram alongside the meme.
“Thank you to our amazing fans through the years for all your passion and support.”
Whitman replied to the post with the following:

Beth, Ruby, and Annie won't be back for the 2021-22 season. NBC has cancelled the Good Girls series so there won't be a fifth year of the low-rated show.
A drama series, Good Girls stars Christina Hendricks, Retta, Mae Whitman, Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Isaiah Stannard, and Matthew Lillard. The TV series centers on three suburban moms who've struggled to get by. They hold up the local Fine & Frugal supermarket, but their take far exceeds their expectations and they find themselves in deep trouble with the local crime boss. In season four, the stakes get higher as the Secret Service closes in on the women's counterfeit ring. When we last saw Beth, she was struggling to carve out her own criminal path separate from Rio, using her husband's spa company, Boland Bubbles, as a front.

Another NBC show bites the dust.
Buzzy dramedy Good Girls has been canceled after four seasons, and there are no plans to shop the series to other outlets.
According to Deadline, there was hope that a deal could be reached to bring the show back for a truncated fifth season to bring the series to a close.
Unfortunately, a deal could not be ironed out.
Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman led the NBC drama that was a strong digital performer for the network.
Even when the show recently launched on Netflix, it managed to top the streaming charts, leading many to believe it could continue.
Netflix also had international streaming rights to the show, and it was thought that a deal would be reached to ship the show to Netflix, but alas, Netflix is not as open to picking up canceled shows as it once was.

“Good Girls” has been canceled after four seasons at NBC, Variety has learned.
The drama series was the last remaining question mark in NBC’s scripted lineup from the 2020-2021 season. The broadcaster also recently axed the dramas “Manifest,” “Debris,” and “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.” Like “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” and “Manifest,” there had been talks about finding “Good Girls” a new home on a streaming platform, but that move ultimately did not work financially.
There are five episodes remaining of “Good Girls” Season 4, with the show airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. Et. In the season, the Secret Service closes in the main characters’ counterfeit ring. Beth (Christina Hendricks) was struggling to carve out her own criminal path separate from Rio (Manny Montana), using her husband’s spa company, Boland Bubbles, as a front. Ruby (Retta) seemed to have salvaged her marriage after a rocky road, but only time will...

Good Girls’ crime spree is coming to an end.
NBC has canceled the drama starring Christina Hendricks, Retta and Mae Whitman after four seasons. The show will end after the network airs its five remaining episodes between now and July.
The hope was that the network and the studio could find a way to return for one more season to close out the story, but they were unable to make the financials work. A contingency plan to move the show to Netflix also did not pan out.
The series will not be shopped elsewhere by studio Universal Television, despite being a decent draw on Netflix, topping its streaming ratings earlier this year.
It marks 4-for-4 cancellations for NBC bubble shows; the network canceled Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Manifest earlier this month, while Debris was canceled at the end of May.

With the world slowly beginning to come out on the other side of the coronavirus pandemic, this Pride season is one of tremendous celebration. And yet, the spirit of a movement itself born out of a protest lives on. As the month of June comes to a close and International Pride Day nears, E! News has asked some of Hollywood's newest generation of LGBTQ stars to share what Pride means to them in 2021. Welcome to The New Faces of Pride. Crediting series such as FX's groundbreaking drama Pose and HBO's Euphoria, Isaiah Stannard would agree "there's slowly more representation and better representation" of trans stories on screen. "I think Hollywood is changing," he noted in an...

In 2007, six-year-old Jazz Jennings went on national television to tell Barbara Walters the same thing she’d been telling her parents, siblings and anyone else who would listen: She was, despite her birth certificate’s insistence otherwise, a girl.
Shy and sweet, Jennings answered Walters’ probing questions with the clarity and patience of someone used to explaining herself over and over again. “She was so charismatic, so charming and so clearly herself,” Laverne Cox says of first seeing that “20/20” interview. “Her humanity was so on display that you couldn’t deny she had the right to be who she was.” It was a watershed moment for transgender visibility in media, not least because it made Jennings one of the youngest documented trans people to speak her truth for millions of viewers to hear.
It’d be easy for Jennings to say she always knew that moment would be life-changing.

NBC has finally made a decision on the future of Good Girls.
The Peacock network has announced it is sticking with the dramedy, and has handed out a fourth season renewal.
It comes just weeks after the series was forced to shut down production with five of its 16 episodes unproduced.
Created by Jenna Bans, Good Firls stars Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman and Retta as friends who become involved in a criminal enterprise.
The cast also includes Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Isaiah Stannard, and Matthew Lillard.
The series is not a hit by any stretch of the imagination in linear ratings, averaging just under 2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the demo.
However, the series is a hit in post-airdate viewing, with numbers spiking to 3.4 million viewers and a 0.9 rating within a week of its linear airing.

Despite the proliferation of news stories about bathroom bills and pushes to use gender-inclusive pronouns in classrooms and workplaces, stories about gender expression and identity are still ones that Hollywood can struggle to get right.
It was only last year that Showtime’s “Billions” cast non-binary actor Asia Kate Dillon to play the first non-binary role on an American series, and the transgender community has had a mixed reaction to cis-gender male actor Jeffrey Tambor’s award-winning turn as a transitioning woman on Amazon’s “Transparent” the past four seasons. This season saw “Looking” alum Tanya Saracho’s new Starz family drama, “Vida.” Among its many queer-positive stances is the casting of non-binary talent Ser Anzoategui as Eddy, a woman mourning the loss of her wife while also struggling to have a relationship with her detached stepdaughters. While Anzoategui uses they/them pronouns, their character (at least in season one) is a cis-gender woman.

The good news is true. The Good Girls TV show on NBC is renewed for season two, with a start date Tbd. For its first couple of episodes, the Jenna Banns dramedy did pretty well in the Nielsens for any scripted NBC TV series not named This Is Us. After that, it shed viewers for a few weeks, before stabilizing and ending up in about the middle of the pack. While it was renewed, this one could have gone either way. A dark NBC comedy-drama, Good Girls stars Christina Hendricks, Retta, Mae Whitman, Matthew Lillard, Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Izzy Stannard, and David Hornsby. NBC has given a second-season pickup to Good Girls, its new midseason drama from The Family creator Jenna Bans. The series, starring Christina Hendricks, Retta and Mae Whitman, marks the second drama renewed by NBC for next season, joining This Is Us, and the first NBC freshman series to get a Season 2 (unless the Will & Grace revival is counted as a new series).
Boosted by The Voice lead-in, Good Girls has averaged a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.1 million viewers overall in L+7 Nielsen ratings. It ranked No. 1 or tied for No. 1 in the time slot versus the ABC and CBS drama competition in 18-49 for each of its past five telecasts when it did not have to face ABC’s The Good Doctor in the Monday 10 Pm hour following the medical drama’s season finale.
While Good Girls‘ demo delivery actually was a tad below that of its predecessor in the hour — new NBC fall drama The Brave, which did not get a back order — Good Girls has been largely well reviewed and has a lucrative deal with Netflix, which benefits the series’ producer, NBC sibling Universal TV. The female drama with comedic overtones became the first series on a Big 4 broadcast networks to land a pact under Netflix’s co-licensing model where the streaming giant pays a significant fee for distributing a show outside of North America.
Good Girls follows three suburban moms who get tired of trying to make ends meet and decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local grocery store. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think.
Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Izzy Stannard and Matthew Lillard co-star in the series, executive produced by creator Bans, director Dean Parisot and Jeannine Renshaw.

Although it has long relied upon Dick Wolf's procedural Chicago and Law & Order franchises to pay the rent, in the last couple of years NBC has diversified -- with TV shows like family drama This Is Us and the philosophical fantasy comedy The Good Place . Now the Peacock Network has introduced its new female-led Good Girls TV show, which feels decidedly of-the-moment. In the first season, can this dramedy capitalize on the zeitgeist and earn ratings as strong as its driven anti-heroines? Will Good Girls be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. “Good Girls” gets a lot of things right on paper and almost as many things wrong in execution. The hourlong “comedy-infused drama” focuses on three moms who are backed against a wall and see no other viable option to provide for their families than less-than-legal means. Like Walter White cooking meth to give his wife and son a nest egg after his death, Beth (Christina Hendricks), Annie (Mae Whitman), and Ruby (Retta) decide to rob a grocery store in order to keep a roof over their kids’ heads, maintain custody, or literally save a child’s life.
While one could complain that we’ve seen this kind of story before, in “Breaking Bad,” “Ozark,” and even the lady-led “Weeds,” that’s far from the top problem facing “Good Girls” moving forward. (Really, it’s not a problem at all, given how many far-more-familiar male antihero stories we’ve sat through over the years.
