It is not always easy to bring joy to a show that thrives on the human condition's unexpected despair.
Lola Flanery made that happen when she joined the show as Madi, instantly finding her own place within The 100 world. She was a child that Clarke (and eventually everyone else) would stop at nothing to protect.
But from her very first scene, the audience could see that Madi was not looking to be protected when she could protect herself without even knowing it. Over time she tried her best to find her own voice, even when the narrative didn't want her to until she reached her final journey during The 100 Season 7.
Madi had just about anything and everything possible come her way, from anxiety to Sheidheda to Cadogan, and in the end, she still found a way to get the ending that she wanted for herself.
None of these...

It’s always difficult to bid farewell to a beloved television ensemble, but especially so for the cast of The CW’s The 100. Many viewers have literally grown up alongside these characters, who started as juvenile delinquents and ended as adults who had lived several lifetimes. Even for older viewers, the characters and the actors behind them have become much beloved.
In this case, we can happily say until we meet again, as many cast members have already lined up new projects. Some are jumping immediately into new TV series, while others are exploring film franchises. At least one actor who got the chance to try her hand at directing on The 100 is honing that craft in future projects.
Read on for the next steps for all of your favorites.

Tonight, a long quest for survival comes to an end. The 100 is saying goodbye after seven seasons and if the past few episodes (and the past seven seasons) are any indication, it's not going to go out with a straight up happy ending. That's simply not The 100's style, as showrunner Jason Rothenberg reminded us when we pointed out how particularly cruel the show has been these past few weeks. First Diyoza (Ivana Milicevic) sacrificed herself, then Clarke (Eliza Taylor) killed Bellamy (Bob Morley) to protect Madi (Lola Flanery), then Madi essentially became catatonic. It's a lot! "We've never been kind in that way," Rothenberg said. "We have always tried to have the...

It's a rough time to be a fan of The 100. The long-running CW series is coming to an end in just a few weeks and while we never believed all the main characters would make it to the end, we didn't see this one coming so soon. At the very end of the Wednesday, Sept. 9 episode, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) shot and killed her best friend Bellamy (Bob Morley) before following the rest of her friends through a bridge to another planet, all in an effort to protect her adopted daughter, Madi (Lola Flanery). Bellamy was already believed to be dead early on in the season, but just two episodes ago, it was revealed that he had actually ended up on the desolate planet Etherea with Doucette (Jonathan...

Earlier last month, The 100 fandom got together in Vancouver for Unity Days 2020 to celebrate the final season of the show and to enjoy the fan-created convention once again.
With the final season still filming, there wasn't much that could be shared by the cast. In fact, everything has been very secret this time around, and we haven't even gotten a premiere date or the promise of a potential trailer.
But that is the appeal of a convention, to give fans and cast members the chance to see one another and reflect on the legacy of the show together.
That is exactly what happened from January 24th through January 26th, with fans and the cast alike spending the weekend together talking about their love for the show and their excitement for The 100 Season 7.
Cast members in attendance included Eliza Taylor (Clarke Griffin), Bob Morley (Bellamy Blake), Chuku Modu (Gabriel Santiago...

A show like The 100 is built on a passionate fanbase, so it only makes sense that the convention built around that echoes the same statement.
It was passion that pushed fans to ask for more Unity Days, and it was that reaction that pushed a fourth year of the convention coming up January 24-26, 2020.
And as any previous Unity Days attendee knows, no year is ever exactly the same. Each time the convention recreates what worked best the year before, and yet also manages to surprise the fans with unexpected ideas.
This time around that turned into Unity Days hosting their largest guest count yet, rounding out at 17 actors from the show, and that is just the backdrop for what is yet to come.
The convention has also managed to gain a lot of new faces, not just to Unity Days but to most The 100 fans as well. Actors like Chuku Modu,...

It is hard to remember The 100 without Madi Griffin there to steal the show with all her wonderful scenes.
Having Madi is great because of the way she adds to the story individually, while at the same time also allowing Clarke to have this kind of love for her daughter that pushes her to do better.
Madi has been a source of humor, surprise, and excitement. But Madi is human and that means she ended up in situations that weren't as healthy too, like with the way Sheidheda was able to take over her mind during The 100 Season 6.
The 100: 31 Bellamy and Clarke Driven Season 6 Scenes That Were Misinterpreted
Through it all though, Madi has become an example of strength and of love saving the day when it really needs to.
Madi's love for Clarke is what saved the both of them and it is what will continue to bring their stories light.

All things must come to an end unless it is this recent season of The 100 which didn't know how to end.
There may be plenty of explanations, but it mostly comes down to a finale that was written without the intention of it also landing as a series finale if necessary.
During The 100 Season 6 Episode 13, Clarke and Madi ended up in space where they had to face off against Russell and Sheidheda. Meanwhile, down in Sanctum Bellamy and Gabriel have to come together to trick the cult believers into letting them stay alive.
All of this doesn't compare to Octavia somehow needing to return to the Anomaly, which becomes them exposing it enough for an older Hope to come and stab Octavia. This makes Octavia disappear into the Anomaly again, leaving Diyoza's daughter and Bellamy begging for answers.

How far will you go for the one you love?
Many had to face this question as circumstances outside of their control forced their hand in the situation.

This leaves Emori and Murphy captured, with Murphy injured. Meanwhile, Bellamy and Josephine are on the loose, headed to Gabriel so he could help save Clarke.
He does have his hands full though, with Octavia coming back healed from the Anomaly and Diyoza nowhere to be seen.
During all of this, Raven decides to help Abby make nightblood for the chance to get back Kane, who comes back in the body of newcomer Gavin.

So either Clarke's not dead, or the afterlife is a room filled with emotional graffiti. At the very end of this week's episode of The 100, Josephine (Eliza Taylor) went to sleep and suddenly a younger-looking Clarke (Eliza Taylor) woke up in a room filled with drawings of the people important to her and big moments from her past, and in our exclusive sneak peek, you can get a much better look at that weird little room. Drawings include her mom (Paige Turco), Madi (Lola Flanery), Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) throwing her hands in the air after they first landed on Earth, a very young-looking Bellamy (Bob Morley), and of course, Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey), which is the first drawing she gravitates...

Shadowhunters‘ big wrap-up movie won’t air until 2019 — along with the second half of Season 3 — but fans have been getting an early look through the magic (no runes necessary) of social media.
The Freeform drama’s Twitter-friendly cast has been documenting every step of “The Final Hunt” — at least as much as they’re allowed to show — which culminated this weekend with the remaining cast members’ official wrap. Several actors, including Isaiah Mustafa and Alisha Wainwright, had already wrapped and are working on other projects. (Mustafa was cast in the It sequel, while Wainwright is co-starring in a new Michael B. Jordan Netflix series.

Never has Clarke seemed more like a mom than in this week's episode of The 100. In the clip above, exclusive to E! News, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) is trying to get Madi (Lola Flanery) far away from Polis and the plan to have Madi ascend as the next Wonkru commander, and even though it's a really intense and unusual problem they're having, they have never sounded more like a mother and her teenage daughter. Madi might as well be asking to go back to the mall with her older boyfriend, or maybe more accurately asking to go back to the mall so she can become the leader of a dangerous motorcycle gang about to head into a turf war. We left The 100 Season 5 Episode 5 on a shocking note, not for us but for Clarke and Octavia. Clarke reunited with Madi, but her happiness was cut short when she saw Bellamy and Echo together. They may have been blurred out of the show, but it was clear as day for both of them.
Octavia was the miserable one though; she just ended a threat and Bellamy and here was her least favorite person testing her patience even more.
Based on the promo, Octavia isn't going to ease up on the Echo revelation. Her memories of her aren't the brightest, what with Echo trying to kill her twice then killing Ilian.
Octavia was just living her life thinking Echo lost hers to Praimfaya, but she is not the only one due for a shakeup.
Now The 100 Season 5 Episode 6 is using the title "Exit Wounds," so it might be safe to say...

The last place we left off during The 100 Season 5 Episode 2 included an update of how things are going in the bunker right now, specifically with Kane walking into the fighting pits that Octavia created.

The end of The 100 season 4 promised big changes on the horizon. After all, when you turn the setting of your series into a barren, radioactive wasteland, you’re going to have to shuffle things around a bit. And the start of the new season is a little like the show has hit the reset button, as characters who may have grown comfortable in their roles and within the dynamics of several larger groups have all been forced to reconfigure in order to survive. Some, like Bellamy (Bob Morley) and his crew have returned to space, while most of the others have moved underground. Meanwhile, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) has not only managed to survive the nuclear fallout, she’s discovered her own Eden and made a new, potentially more fulfilling life for herself by becoming a surrogate mother to a young girl named Madi (Lola Flanery).

After a long, long wait, The 100 finally returns tonight, though nothing is quite the same as it was when we last saw it. It's been six years since the death wave of radiation that sent a few people to space, nearly everyone underground, and left poor Clarke (Eliza Taylor) stranded on the surface all alone. In the last moments of the season four finale, we saw that Clarke had survived that wave for six years and was still waiting for everyone to return, but she hadn't been alone all that time. She had, at some point, befriended/adopted a little girl named Madi (Lola Flanery), and most of tonight's premiere is spent on Clarke and this relationship that will become a crucial one throughout the...

The 100 returns for its fifth season like a bullet out of a gun; a lean, mean vehicle of propulsive action and rich character drama that shreds through the status quo. Rolling off the shocking Season 4 cliffhanger, which fast-forwarded the story six years down the line, we find ourselves in a new world. Clarke (Eliza Taylor) survived Praimfaya, leaving her to Omega Man her way around the remains of the second apocalypse until she meets Madi (Lola Flanery), the mysterious young night blood she’s taken under her wing. The game has changed. With just the two of …...

The 100 has a well-documented history of delivering epic trailers, but since the Season 5 edition is still being kept under wraps — possibly in the Warner Bros. water tower, right next the Animaniacs — fans have more questions than ever about what’s next for our favorite (and least-favorite) survivors.
This may not all be news for die-hard fans who spend sleepless nights analyzing tweets and crafting theories, but for those of you who haven’t been obsessively combing the web for updates, here’s what we know so far:
* Let’s start small: The fifth season premieres Tuesday, April 24 at 9/8c.

Now that the countdown to Christmas is over, it’s time to look forward to the next holy holiday: The 100‘s fifth season premiere.
Granted, we don’t know when that’s happening, nor do we have a trailer with which to whet our collective whistle. Fortunately, we do have Jason Rothenberg. The CW drama’s showrunner has been stealth-tweeting screenshots from the Season 5 trailer (release date Tbd), giving us an early look at how our favorite survivors have changed during the major time jump. (Speaking of time jumps, I feel like we could all use one right about now.

Mike Dopud, most recently seen as Power baddie Jason Micic, has been cast in the CW drama’s upcoming fifth season, our sister site Deadline reports, playing Vinson, one of the prisoners aboard the mysterious ship that landed in the Season 4 finale. Vinson may have the swagger of an upstanding intellectual, but make no mistake — he’s a “ruthless serial killer, terrifying enough to keep even the worst of the criminals on their toes.

With the comic book-based movie ascendant, other genres have worn out their welcome with audiences, largely given to them being played out mines of creativity. One such casualty of staleness was the romcom; I would argue we haven’t had a good one of those in at least a decade. It makes sense, therefore, that the next generation of filmmaker tries the genre. You can’t have a better pedigree for this than Writer/Director Hallie Meyers-Shyer, who with parents Nancy Meyers (The Holiday) and Charles Shyer, were the last interesting purveyors in this field.
The trailers for Universal’s Home Again certainly looked promising with a look at 40-year old single mom Alice Kinney (Reese Witherspoon) raising her two daughters Isabel (Lola Flanery) and Rose (Eden Grace Redfield) in the house her now deceased father owned. He was a legendary director who married his last major star, Lillian (Candice Bergen...

MaryAnn’s quick take… Precious, fatuous, Nancy Meyers–lite rom-com about a privileged rich white lady with no real problems who can’t help but mom her much-younger new boyfriend. Barf. I’m “biast” (pro): love Reese Witherspoon
I’m “biast” (con): not usually a fan of romantic comedies
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
Alice Kinney spends the morning of her 40th birthday crying in the bathroom. Of course she does! That’s what women do… and Alice (Reese Witherspoon: Sing, Hot Pursuit) has so much to be sad about. She lives in a big beautiful house in sunny Los Angeles, which once belonged to her now-deceased film-director father, who was super-genius and enormously popular and won Oscars and everything. She doesn’t have to work — see: wealthy dead dad — but she’s embarking on the latest in her long line of rich-white-girl...

Okay, Summer’s pretty much done, one for the books (and if we’re talking the”balance book” or financial ledger, it’s one Hollywood would like to forget). Things were so dire, that the major studios pretty much gave up on the last half of August. But look out “indies”, they’re back with a one-two punch. On one hand (and in most of the theatres) is Stephen King’s killer clown, and for a little alternative marketing there’s this family themed “rom-com”. It’s set in the upper classes of La with homes outfitted and decorated with impeccable taste. Sounds like the work of writer/director Nancy Myers, you say? Well actually this is the feature film making debut of her daughter. So does the apple fall far from the tree (or the expensive ceramic coffee table fruit bowl)? Let’s find out when we go Home Again.
