We're annoyed with The X Factor. No, not because of Mason Noise, or because Sinitta wasn't at Judges' Houses, or because of Simon Cowell's eye-wateringly high waistline. Nope, we're annoyed with The X Factor because we're not getting Halloween Week this year.
There's nothing scarier than a hopeful singer nervously belting out a classic while dressed in lycra and cobwebs, but we're going to be denied this pleasure as the contestants instead face the "this is me" theme for the first live show on Saturday. But that doesn't stop us from carving a pumpkin, popping on a witch's hat and reliving these best ever Halloween Week performances:

Ever get a feeling of déjà vu while you're watching The X Factor? That's because after 11 series and hundreds of contestants, the live shows have seen a whopping 728 tracks performed so far. But like a wedding DJ reaching for his failsafe party anthems CD, the top five most popular songs have been dusted off and rolled out over 33 times between them.
Our geeky rules state that we're counting all live show performances and group songs, but not repeat performances from the same act in the same series.
=5. 'Feeling Good': 6 performances
Performed by: Beverley Trotman, Rachel Hylton, Stacey Solomon, James Arthur, Rebecca Ferguson, Andrea Faustini
Made famous by Nina Simone, this classic usually pops up in the traditional 'Big Band Week', and is a good excuse for an act to show off their sultry side. Stacey had a go with Michael Bublé in 2009, while Andrea tried out a more powerhouse version last year.

The X Factor contestant Katie Waissel appears to have hinted that she could return to the show - as a judge.
Waissel returned to the programme for the 'Greatest Hits' performance on Saturday night (December 13), but was spotted at the end of the routine mouthing: "You owe me" at Simon Cowell.
She has now confirmed in her column for New! that she did indeed mouth those words, but insisted that she has no hard feelings towards Cowell.
After revealing that X Factor winner Ben Haenow thanked her for being a "great mentor", she continued: "I had no idea the cameras were on me when I had my little moment with Simon.
"I see viewers are fantastic lip readers and yes, I did say, 'You owe me one'. Simon and I are as close as pennies in a purse and yes there are very exciting things to look forward to for next year,...

Eight-piece boybands, middle-aged men dressed as Egyptians getting honey rubbed on their chests, Louis Walsh being... Louis Walsh. Yes, this series of X Factor might not have been the most thrilling, but even in a non-vintage year, there has been plenty to laugh at and enjoy.
This evening's final features Fleur East, Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini battling for the prize of a record contract and the chance to hit the charts in time for Christmas. All the betting and polls seem to suggest that it's a one-horse race with Fleur running away with it, but The X Factor has thrown up surprises in the past, so nothing can be ruled out.

Update: Mel B will miss tonight's (December 13) X Factor final due to illness, it has been confirmed.
ITV confirmed the news in a statement to Digital Spy, explaining that the former Spice Girl would be replaced by Tulisa.
"Unfortunately Mel is still unwell and following doctors' advice she will not be taking part in Saturday's show. Tulisa will join the panel as a guest judge."
ITV said that Mel had been unwell for the past few days, and missed Thursday's rehearsals.
Tulisa was deemed the "natural choice" to replace Mel B because of her stints as judge in 2011 and 2012.
It is unclear if Mel B will return for tomorrow's (December 14) results show at 8pm on ITV.

The X Factor final kicks off tonight (December 13), and to say we're excited would be an understatement.
But it's not all sweetness and light at Digital Spy towers - oh no. In fact, things have been rather heated over the past couple of weeks as we fight over which act should win.

Fleur East should win! - Catriona Wightman, Entertainment Editor
Do I even need to fight that hard for this? I like Andrea and Ben, sure, but it seems like the act everyone is talking about this weekend is Fleur - and for good reason. Fleur East has confirmed that she will perform 'Uptown Funk' again during The X Factor final this weekend.
The singer topped the iTunes chart last week after delivering an impressive performance of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars's new single in last weekend's semi-final.
Taking time out of rehearsals at Wembley Stadium, East revealed on ITV's This Morning that she would be performing the song once more on Saturday night (December 13), having chosen it as her performance of the series with mentor Simon Cowell.
Admitting that she had set herself a challenge to perform it for a second time, East promised that the finals performance would be "bigger and better".
Her rendition of 'Uptown Funk' proved so popular that Ronson's label rush-released the track, bringing forward its release by five weeks to meet demand.

We can't quite believe the X Factor final is this weekend - we're not sure we're ready to say goodbye to Simon Cowell yet - but before we get to crowning a winner, there is some very important business to attend to. Like, say, who Andrea, Ben and Fleur will be duetting with. And what their winner's singles will be. We need to know.
Well, we'll probably find out very soon but until then we'd like to wildly speculate. So below, we lay out our choices for the top three - both the silly and the serious.
Andrea Faustini
Dream Duet
Silly: Spice Girls. Just imagine. We know Andrea is a huge fan, and we also really want to see Mel B and Geri get on the same stage again. Frankly if Andrea's not belting out the chorus to 'Viva Forever' on Saturday night he doesn't deserve to win.

Lauren Platt has been eliminated from The X Factor.
This means that Fleur East, Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini have made it through to the final next weekend (December 13, 14).
It was revealed by host Dermot O'Leary that Platt and Faustini were the bottom two acts of the week, before they both performed in a sing off to fight for their place in the final.
Platt sang 'There You'll Be', while Faustini performed 'Who You Are' by Jessie J.
Cheryl wanted to send home Faustini, while Mel B stuck with her act and sent home Platt.
Louis Walsh decided to send home Platt, which Simon Cowell agreed with.
Platt said: "Firstly, I want to say thank you to everybody who voted for me and got me this far.
"Secondly, I want to say thank you to the most incredible women I have ever met in my life."
