- Susan has been playing guitar since the Beatles arrived in the United States in 1964. A graduate of Boston University School of Law Susan began to play professionally in the mid-1980's after a stint with the FBI as a Special Agent. Susan's bands featured a vocalist and Susan's original music. In 1995 Susan dropped the vocalist but kept writing and formed the all-instrumental Susan and the SurfTones. A record deal with Gee-Dee Music, a small label in Hamburg, Germany, led to four well-received European tours. Susan was subsequently signed by Italian label, OmOm Music. Songs were placed on MTV's The Real World Season 20 and Nissan used Susan's original material in an Italian promotional video. Susan's music is also used frequently in Lance Lambert's Vintage Vehicles cable TV show aired around the world. In 2011 Susan began to record and perform as Susan SurfTone. 2011 saw the release of her critically acclaimed solo CD "Shore". In 2013 her second CD as Susan SurfTone, "Too Far", was featured in the Huffington Post. Susan followed up with the 2014 release of "Reckoning", a well-received six-song EP. With her three solo recordings Susan has expanded the reach of surf music into pop/rock combining influences from a broad spectrum while remaining rooted in a retro yet modern sound. - In 2016 Susan released her first vocal song, an original in Buddy Holly style called "Little Bit Lied To." Her live acoustic show features guitar and vocals as featured in the 2019 music documentary, "Hanging With My Sisters."
