In 2021, Pointless fans had to come to terms with the fact that change is the only constant in this crazy, crazy world when the show’s co-creator and co-host Richard Osman left to pursue other career opportunities such as being an incredibly successful crime novelist, and taking the main seat on his own game show Richard Osman’s House of Games.
Good for Richard Osman, it all seems to be very going well for him. But for Pointless?
Taking its cue from satirical current affairs show Have I Got News For You?, which settled on a revolving carousel of guest hosts when its regular host Angus Deayton was forced to step down instead of plumping for a permanent chair, Pointless has welcomed a series of co-hosts in the past couple of years.

Keanu Reeves has his grievances with the power of CGI, so much so that years ago, he added a clause to his contracts stating his performances couldn’t be manipulated without his consent.
With the use of AI technology becoming increasingly prevalent in filmmaking, it has brought into question the ethics of digitally altering performances.
“I don’t mind if someone takes a blink out during an edit,” the John Wick star told Wired in a new interview. “But early on, in the early 2000s, or it might have been the Nineties, I had a performance changed. [He won’t say which.]
“They added a tear to my face, and I was just like, “Huh?!” It was like, I don’t even have to be here,” Reeves recalled.
When asked if he later put a clause into his contracts prohibiting post-production edits to his performance, he confirmed: “Yeah, digitally.”

Capital FM DJ Ant Payne’s ‘disgusting’ Turkey earthquake ‘joke’ receives nearly 600 Ofcom complaints
A radio DJ’s “disgusting” joke about the fatal Turkey earthquakes has generated hundreds of complaints.
Ant Payne made the comment during his Capital FM Drivetime show on Monday (13 February).
After two powerful earthquakes, and their aftershocks, reduced Turkish towns and cities to rubble, leaving more than 41,000 people dead, Payne said: “Now is actually the best time to start looking at some cheap flights away to Turkey.”
He continued in a chipper tone: “Get your teeth done while you are over there. Come back looking 19 years old. You’ll be on Love Island next year if you are doing that.”
Payne apologised for his comments on Tuesday (14 February), telling his Twitter followers: “Hi guys, I want to address the comment I made last night on the show. It was insensitive and ill timed.
“I would never wish to offend anyone from my shows. My sincere and wholehearted apologies.”

Part one was released on Netflix earlier this month, and the final batch of episodes will arrive in a matter of weeks.
The trailer shows Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) as he gets to grips with the characters he met in part one after moving to London.
However, the end of the trailer features a surprising reveal.
Joe is shown walking into a room to find his wife, Love Quinn, who seemingly died at the end of season three, sat in a chair, reading a book written by season four character Rhys Montrose (Ed Speleers).

Andrea Riseborough has said that the controversy surrounding her recent Oscar nomination has “deeply impacted” her.
In January, the 41-year-old British actor was a surprising addition to the 2023 Oscar nominees, bagging a nod in the Best Actress category for her leading role in the indie drama To Leslie.
Her nomination followed a run of late-in-the-day endorsements from numerous A-list stars, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Charlize Theron, Amy Adams, Jennifer Aniston and Jane Fonda.
It wasn’t long after Riseborough’s triumphant breakthrough that heated debates began around race and privilege in the industry.
Many critics felt that Riseborough’s recognition came at the expense of The Woman King’s Viola Davis and Till’s Danielle Deadwyler, both Black actors who were left out of the Best Actress category.
Others argued that being backed by Hollywood’s elite showed egregious signs of white privilege and cronyism.

Selena Gomez has opened up about feeling “triggered” by her Disney past.
The actor shot to fame as a child star in Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, which she starred in from 2007 to 2012.
Since then, she has carved a career away from the studio thanks to roles in Spring Breakers and Only Murders in the Building. She also does charity work, and has her own clothing, handbag and fragrance lines.
Gomez says that while she “definitely feels free of” the Disney label, she “sometimes gets triggered”.
She told Vanity Fair: “It’s not that I’m ashamed of my past – it’s just that I’ve worked so hard to find my own way. I don’t want to be who I was. I want to be who I am.”
Gomez said the pressures of being “perfect” while working for Disney took its toll.

Regé-Jean Page has given some insight into his decision to leave Bridgerton after season one.
The actor was one of the key figures of the romantic period drama series in its debut season, back in 2020.
He played Simon, Duke of Hastings, who pursued a fake relationship with Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) before they eventually fell in love.
Their romance was one of the most-discussed points of the programme and sparked countless fan tributes to the Duke on social media.
However, Page didn’t return for Bridgerton’s second season and has no further plans to feature in the show.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the actor was asked whether his decision to move on from the show was his attempt to avoid being pigeonholed.
Page replied by saying that his true reason was “much simpler” than suggested.

The Last of Us went to great lengths to distinguish itself from a zombie show, even going so far as banning its crew from using the “Z word on set”.
HBO Max’s hit adaptation of the popular video game stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as two survivors in a post-pandemic US who embark on a life-threatening journey across the country.
Along the way, they come across “the Infected”, a subset of the remaining population whose bodies have been taken over by fungi.
And while the Infected, sometimes referred to as “clickers” and “bloaters”, may appear zombie-like, fans and crew alike would be remiss to allude to them as such.
“We weren’t allowed to say the Z word on set,” series cinematographer Eben Bolter told The Credits in a recent interview. “It was like a banned word. They were the Infected. We weren’t a zombie show.

Blackadder is returning to screens for the first time in two decades – but without the involvement of Rowan Atkinson.
The acclaimed sitcom, which saw Atkinson play various descendants of the scheming Edmund Blackadder throughout different points in history, is being revived for a Red Nose Day 2023 sketch in aid of Comic Relief.
While Atkinson will not be returning in the titular role, Tony Robinson is set to reprise the part of Baldrick, Blackadder’s slow-witted subordinate.
Richard Curtis, who created the series alongside Atkinson, confirmed the news during an interview on BBC Radio 2’s breakfast show on Tuesday (14 February).
“For the first time in 20 years, Baldrick is going to be giving some kind of performance,” he said. “We’re just conspiring about it now, so I think there’s going to be a marvellous, turnip-based thing with Tony Robinson now back in action, so I’m excited about that.

Judge Robert Rinder has criticised Qatar after England’s 3-0 win against Senegal in the World Cup last night (4 December).
England’s triumph means they are now through to the quarter-finals of the tournament in Qatar, and will play France on Saturday (10 December).
ITV daytime star Rinder, who was hosting Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid on Monday (5 December), said: “At first I wasn’t going to watch [the World Cup] and now, I don’t know if you feel like this, not only do I want them to win, I want them to go and win that final and I want them to win it for the values of Britain, of Western democracy.”
He added: “As an articulate middle finger… for every worker, all of those thousands who died, for every corrupt Fifa official that took a kick back, and for those minority communities, women and members of the LGBT community in...

Judge Robert Rinder has reflected on bumping into Harry Styles in the gym, calling their encounter “the worst social car crash ever”.
The ITV daytime star said he was “starstruck” when he noticed the former One Direction singer on a running machine next to him in the gym.
“Nobody looks at anyone at my gym, so I just thought there was a homeless girl running next to me,” he told The Telegraph. “And then I had a moment of epiphany: it was Harry Styles.
“He’s evolved into a real artist, so when I subsequently saw him I got strangely starstruck. We ended up involved in a conversation and all I will say was that it was the worst social car crash ever.”
Rinder added: “He hugged me because he needed to make it stop. It was like an act of social euthanasia.”

Updated, 4:30 Am: UK grime artist and rapper Wiley, who prompted outrage last week with a series of anti-Semitic social media posts, has been permanently banned from Twitter. Yesterday, Facebook and its service Instagram also deleted accounts owned by the musician, real name Richard Cowie.
Twitter today also apologized for a delay in its action in combating the offensive messages.
“Upon further investigation, our teams have permanently suspended the account in question for repeated violations of our hateful conduct policy. Let us be clear: hateful conduct has absolutely no place on our service and we strongly condemn antisemitism. We are sorry we did not move faster and are continuing to assess the situation internally,” said the service.
UK national The Guardian also came in for criticism today when, in an opinion piece related to the Wiley story, it used a picture of rapper Kano. The paper has since updated the article with a new image.

ITV is giving President Donald Trump’s pal Piers Morgan an extra half hour in the mornings as it refreshes its daytime schedule.
The British broadcaster has extended its collection of live daytime shows in the morning schedule following the cancellation of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
The Jerry Springer-esque studio format was axed earlier this year after a contributor committed suicide shortly after appearing on the show.
From January 2020, Good Morning Britain, which is fronted by Morgan and Susanna Reid and has regularly aired interviews with the U.S. President, will be extended to run from 6am to 9am. This will be followed by Lorraine, hosted by Lorraine Kelly, running from 9am to 10am and This Morning, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, also being extended by half an hour from 10am to 12:30pm with talkshow Loose Women running until 1:30pm.

Grant Michaels, who previously ran InterTalent Rights, and Rebecca Johnson are among the agents who have left the agency in recent months, with the pair setting up Encanta Talent Management.
Their departure means that stars including Judge Rinder host Robert Rinder and First Dates star Fred Siriex will now be co-represented by Encanta as well as InterTalent.

The TV judge was a guest on Good Morning Britain when he was offered the chance to present the bulletin.
The presenter and criminal barrister, whose real name is Robert Rinder, exclaimed "that looks dreadful" when he saw the meteorological forecast for the day.
"It's going to be like living under an elephant – terribly grey," he told viewers, before saying to regular forecaster Laura Tobin: "I think I should stick to being a judge, don't you?"
In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Rinder said he was "happily surprised" at the positive reaction to ITV's Judge Rinder.
"I've only met people that are enthusiastic and positive, truly," he told us. "I haven't had a single negative reaction, and if they have, they've very kindly kept it to themselves."...
