- Tony Beetsma was born on August 16, 1976 in Udon Thani. He is an actor, known for Alita: Battle Angel (2019), Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and Mulan (2020).
- Soft spoken, empathetic and with a great sense of humor, Beetsma is dedicated and goal oriented. His modesty is often misinterpreted as shyness to fellow collegues and his self-deprecation is considerable.
- No relation to Dutch TV presenter and historian Margreet Beetsma, despite a popular misconception.
- To pay tuition for art school Tony was a part time gardener at Rutger Hauer's estate in Beetsterzwaag, Friesland, The Netherlands (1995).

- [on being a screenwriter] I've created all my life. People thought i was crazy, a sort of lunatic. I was always an avid reader, perhaps that helps, dunno. I wasn't the brightest at school and so on, and was a university drop out, but had a healthy work ethic. That helps for sure.
