Legendary Television has hired Paramount Television Studios executive Brian Segna as its new head of development and promoted four of its current team members, Variety has learned exclusively.

In his role as senior vice president of development at the “Dune: The Sisterhood” and “Paper Girls” studio, Segna will oversee the acquisition and development of a diverse range of genre and character-driven content for the studio across multiple platforms. As Legendary TV’s chief of development, Segna will be working closely with Jennifer Breslow, executive vice president of television & digital media. Like Breslow, Segna will report directly to Carmi Zlotnik, Legendary’s president of television.

“Brian has the creativity, passion and strategic mindset that we strive to maintain as the vision for our television department,” Zlotnik said. “His insight and experience are a valuable addition and we look forward to working together closely.“

Paramount Television has hired Brian Segna from Universal Content Productions as senior vice president of development. Additionally, Kate Gill and Nicole Harjo were hired to vice president posts.

All three will report to Jenna Santoianni, Paramount TV’s executive vice president and head of development. Santoianni came aboard in March.

Tegna was vice president of scripted television development, where he worked on “Nightflyers,” “Pearson,” “Channel Zero” and George R.R. Martin’s upcoming “Wild Cards” for Hulu. He was ITV Studios before that.

Segna joins from Ucp, where he served as VP Scripted Television Development. He worked on a number of series and pilots there including Nightflyers, Pearson, Channel Zero and two series in the works for Hulu based on the George R.R. Martin book Wild Cards. Prior to that he was VP Scripted Television Development for ITV Studios America.

The studio has tapped Brian Segna as its new senior vice president of development, along with Kate Gill and Nicole Harjo, both of whom are joining as vice presidents of development. The trio will all report to Jenna Santoianni, executive vice president and head of development for Paramount TV.

Segna joins from Universal Cable Productions where he served as VP of scripted TV development. While there, he worked on series and pilots including “Nightflyers” for Syfy and Netflix, “Pearson” for USA Network, and “Channel Zero” for Syfy.
