Dancer-creator Chachi Gonzales is bringing her acting chops to YouTube Red.
Gonzales, 21, who rose to fame for winning the MTV's America’s Best Dance Crew in 2011, will star in a romantic comedy series for the subscription service called Long Distance. Produced by the Latino-leaning digital media company Mitú, Long Distance is about the struggles of a long distance relationship between a Los Angeles social media manager (Gonzales) and her Chicago-based boyfriend (played by the actor Cayden Boyd).
Also starring in the series is Josh Levya -- a fellow influencer and Gonzales’ real-life boyfriend -- who will play a self-centered social influencer who is in effect Gonzales’ boss on the show. “Admittedly, as an actor it was a bit of a stretch for me,” Levya -- who counts roughly 2 million subscribers on his YoMuscleBoii comedy channel -- joked of his role in the series, “but I take my craft very seriously.

YouTube Red continues to bolster its lineup of shows, partnering with Latino-influenced digital media company mitú to create “Long Distance,” a multicultural rom-com debuting on its platform today. The series centers on La-based social media manager Gaby Márquez (Chachi Gonzales) and her Chicago-based boyfriend Chris Murphy (Cayden Boyd) as they try to, you guessed it, make their long distance relationship work. But 21st century pitfalls like social media, cross-cultural challenges and the presence of Gaby’s handsome new boss, Rafa (Josh Leyva) make it harder than expected. In a year without a single Latino Emmy nominee, Mitú’s goal of creating youth-oriented content.

The Storybook Killer horror short tells the story of four friends who reunite looking for answers about the mysterious disappearance of one of their brothers that took place years before at an abandoned fairytale theme park. The four friends end up being killed off one by one over the course of the story.
The short was directed by Andrew Vallentine, and it stars Ricky Dillon, Ashley Argota, Meg DeAngelis, Josh Leyva, and Cody Saintgnue.
This is a fun horror short that I think some of you will enjoy, and the abandoned fairytale theme park is really a nice touch that added some decent production value and an eerie vibe. It was actually shot on location at the Enchanted Forest theme park in Oregon.

"Two brothers walked a single trail..." It's time to get in the Halloween mood with a horror short film. This one is titled The Storybook Killer directed by Andrew Vallentine, and it just premiered online thanks to Amplify and YouTube star Ricky Dillon, who stars in the short film as one of the main characters. The horror short is about a group of friends who go looking for a long lost brother at a nearby theme park, only to end up being killed one-by-one. The dialogue is a bit cheesy, but this is an effective and interesting horror short with some fun kills. The cast includes Ashley Argota, Meg DeAngelis, Josh Leyva, and Cody Saintgnue. Description from YouTube: "Four friends return to an abandoned fairytale theme park seeking answers to a mysterious disappearance from years before." Earlier this year, teen-and-tween-focused digital media company AwesomenessTV and YouTube announced a partnership through which they would produce a slate of films led by online video stars. Now, the first movie born from that pact has been revealed: It’s called Dance Camp, and it stars YouTube personality Meg DeAngelis and actor Nadji Jeter.

Dance Camp be a vehicle for DeAngelis, who is a rising star in the YouTube community and one of the most prominent figures within AwesomenessTV’s multi-channel network on YouTube. Other digital video stars, such as Jake Paul and Josh Leyva, will also appear in the film.

The trend of feature films led by YouTube stars is not strictly an American phenomenon. British YouTube star Olajide Olatunji, known online as Ksi, and South African vlogger Caspar Lee will star in Laid In America, an upcoming feature film whose cast is filled with YouTube stars.
As TheVideoInk, Laid In America began filming last month and promises exactly what it says in the title. Ksi and Lee will play a pair of friends who cross the pond in an attempt to score with Stateside women. The supporting cast is full of YouTube stars: Timothy DeLaGhetto, Josh Leyva, and Josh Golden will all make appearances.
Laid in America is helmed by a notable YouTube channel as well. Bad Weather Films, a sketch comedy hub, is directing the film and co-producing it alongside Max Gottlieb.
Ksi and Caspar are frequent collaborators who are also two of the biggest stars on YouTube.
