Fantasy fans rejoice! Astrid Lindgren‘s beloved classic novel The Brothers Lionheart is getting an event-limited TV series adaptation! Academy Award winner Thomas Vinterberg will direct and co-write the adaptation with Tony and Olivier Award winner Simon Stephens (Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime). Both will serve as Executive Producers alongside Michael Ellenberg, Lars Blomgren, Lindsey Springer of Media Res, and The Astrid Lindgren Company.

‘Celebrity Race Across The World’ Renewed For Season 2 At BBC
Celebrity Race Across the World has landed a second season on the BBC. The format from Traitors maker Studio Lambert sees pairings featuring one celebrity and a parent, sibling or friend set a challenge to head on an epic adventure on a limited budget. In Season 1, which the BBC said is its “biggest factual entertainment brand of the year to date,” the likes of McFly drummer Harry Judd and broadcaster Alex Beresford were set the task of racing from Africa to the Arctic. Season 2’s route will be revealed in due course. The non-celebrity version has run for three seasons and has also been a big hit for the BBC. French TV event Series Mania has confirmed it will return in March next year, with the festival running March 18-25 and the forum running March 22-24. The event will once again be held in Lille, France. On March 24, the Lille Dialogues, a one-day summit, will bring together European lawmakers and international TV industry leaders to reflect on the challenges facing the industry and to promote international cooperation. “As we close the doors to this fantastic 2021 edition, we warmly thank the public and the professionals who came in large numbers here, but also want to salute the tremendous welcome from the city of Lille and the unwavering support of the Hauts-de-France Region, a territory committed to the audiovisual sector,” said festival director Laurence Herszberg.

More than a dozen members of the British Royal Family offer their personal thoughts in a new documentary as they pay tribute to the life of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April at 99.
All the children of the Queen and the Duke, along with their adult grandchildren and other members of the Royal Family, agreed to take part in Oxford Films’ “Prince Philip: The Royal Family.” Originally conceived to mark Prince Philip’s 100th birthday, the documentary features interviews filmed both before and after the Duke’s death and has footage filmed inside Buckingham Palace, including the Duke’s study, private office and library.
It was commissioned by Patrick Holland, BBC director of factual, arts and classical music, and Claire Sillery, head of commissioning, documentaries. The BBC commissioning editor is Simon Young.
The writer and co-producer is Robert Hardman and the executive producer is Nicolas Kent.
