Happy (almost) May readers! Hard to believe we’ve almost hit the halfway point of 2018 already, but here we are, with another great crop of VOD and digital releases to keep you busy over the next few weeks. May’s digital releases kick off with a variety of titles on the 1st, including Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell, Dead List, Cartel 2045, Primal Rage, and The Unwilling, and just a few days later, both Altered Perception and Gehenna: Where Death Lives make their arrivals.
May 8th is the day when fans can head back to Wakanda for Black Panther’s digital bow, and on May 11th, genre fans should definitely check out both Terminal and Revenge (which blew this writer away at last year’s Fantastic Fest). Both The Manor and Island Zero hit various platforms on the 15th, and if you missed it in theaters, Annihilation makes its digital bow on the 22nd.

Looking to deliver a new twist on a feared and revered legend, Patrick Magee's new movie Primal Rage is coming to Us theaters for one night only on February 27th via Fathom Events and Blue Fox Entertainment. To celebrate Bigfoot's return to the big screen, we caught up with Magee for a new Q&A feature to discuss not only directing Primal Rage, but also his time on set playing Bigfoot in a suit he created using skills acquired from his own impressive practical effects career.
Thanks for taking the time to answer questions for us, Patrick, and congratulations on Primal Rage. How and when did you and Jay Lee come up with the idea for your new movie?
Patrick Magee: It was a very long process. I have always wanted to make a Bigfoot suit. I initially started making the Bigfoot suit first, and simultaneously, I started to develop a story,...

The world will never have enough monster movies. From Frankenstein to Frankenhooker, the horror crowd will never stop clambering for even more big-beasty-beat-em-up action. So, in many ways, Primal Rage proves itself a hit before it’s even begun. Special effects and creature make-up man Patrick Magee (a veteran of everything from Avp and Raimi’s Spider-Man to Beyond Re-Animator and Zombie Strippers) very wisely chooses American legend Sasquatch as the nasty of choice for his first turn in the director’s chair. And while the film itself is something of a technical mixed bag, there’s no denying its crowd-pleasing potential.
Dropping the even more mystical subtitle ‘The Legend of Oh-Mah’, Primal Rage digs a little deeper into the general Bigfoot myth, exploring its Native American origins alongside a more standard forest-set survival tale. A recently-released ex-con and his estranged wife (first-timers Andrew Joseph Montgomery and...

Tagline: "If You Thought You Knew the Bigfoot Legend, Think Again..." The first teaser for Primal Rage was released in October of 2017. Not much later, the film had its World Premiere at Chicago's Cinepocalypse. Now, a full length trailer is available for this Bigfoot inspired film. Though, the filmmakers have stated of Primal Rage: "[the film will] blow the lid off traditional Bigfoot Mythology, offering up an intelligent, cunning, primitive warrior being, cloaked in ancient Native American mystique." Directed by special fx artist Patrick Magee, Primal Rage is set for a wider release, in late February. The temperate forests of California and Oregon can be seen in the trailer. These forest hide a brute, who evades capture. Max (Andrew Joseph Montgomery) and Ashley (Casey Gagliardi) have encroached in its territory and so have a number of hunters. It is a fight to stay alive as this mythical beast turns camping into a dangerous endeavour.

Primal Rage is a Sasquatch based horror film. From special effects guru Patrick Magee, this indie film takes place on the Oregon-California border. Here, a young couple are terrorized by a monstrous creature. The film stars: Casey Gagliardi, Andrew Joseph Montgomery and Eloy Casados. A trailer for the film was released earlier this year (found below), along with a movie poster. Also, there are plans to bring the film to theatres, in a few months. A preview of the film's launch is hosted here. In the trailer, several hunters are stalked and attacked in the woods. A couple are also chased. But, this is no ordinary animal. It is one of ancient Native American legend. This time, Bigfoot will not be melting back into the woods, until everyone has been dismembered. Primal Rage will also show in Santa Monica. The film will have an appearance at the American Film Market,...
